You can reinterlace the 1080i to 1080p to improve the picture. Not my encode but I think that's why it was done.

Regarding 24 fps film-source material presented in conventional 1080i60 form, the deinterlacing process that achieves this goal is usually referred to as "3:2 pulldown reversal" [also known as "inverse telecine"]. The importance of this is that, where film-based content is concerned, all 1080-interlaced signals are potentially 1080p signals given the proper deinterlacing. As long as no additional image-degradation steps were applied during signal mastering (such as excessive vertical-pass filtering), the image from a properly deinterlaced film-source 1080i signal and a native-encoded 1080p signal will look approximately the same. It should be noted that Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD sources are 1080p with no vertical filtering, therefore, 1080i output from players can be perfectly reconstructed to 1080p with 3:2 pulldown reversal.

I've downloaded the file and I am seeding however each time I try to play the file it crashes. I've tried it in: WMP10 WMP9 MPC VLC PowerDVD 6.5 I've even had the torrent recheck the file and it says that it hashed correctly. Am I the only one having this problem?

Titan is a troll, is he? What the hell is wrong with you people? How can you possibly say that this is the best quality you've ever seen? Have you only seen aXXo rips until now? Is this the first HD you've ever seen? I must be, because this encoding is horrible. It's the most pixellated HD release I've ever seen. It looks like it's 2 Mbps CBR. Who the hell would encode HD using WMV9 anyway? Do NOT get this, it's worthless and a waste of bandwidth - the DVD9 is a better experience. Sadly though, the only other option I can see is the PLDUB one, which has improper deinterlacing. Looks horrible too.

Oh yeah, and just to clarify: This would only effectively be HD when no one on the screen moves. Every one stands perfectly still and you have a sharp image. Someone nods his head or swings something, the pixelation leaves you with an images of 8x8 blocks, giving you an effective resolution of 240x135. So this is more accurately something like 135p.

I downloaded the PLDUB one and it has superb quality. Though I should have payed more attention to the nfo about what language it is in. :S So I don't know why you would say otherwise about it. I am going to put my faith in this wmv one, even though I prefer mkv formats.

It doesn't matter if this actually is 1080p or not, the fact that this is released in WMV should be a BIG RED FLAG! WMV is typically riddled with DRM bull#### and should be avoided like the plauge! All high-res movies are SUPPOSED to be released in MKV (Matroska Video) an open-platform NO DRM file format. Don't waste your time on this, there's at least 10 other options on TPB for this movie that are in the correct format.

kithylin: except MKV is the biggest fucking piece of shit i've ever seen. You can't stream it on anything, nor can you play it on a DivX DVD player. To stream it requires re-encoding it and hours of work. IF you want to sit at your computer desk and watch an HD movie all by your lonesome, so be it. Even if this is somewhat lesser quality than an MKV at least I can fucking watch the movie while on my couch.

ok i don't know what i'm doing wrong. i've downloaded it. and its great video but its not coming in surround sound. on windows media player classic it says its 6 channel but i'm not getting the center speaker. all of my other downloads that are 5.1 will say digital on my receiver. i'm not getting why its not working. i have sound just not the center speaker. does anyone know the codec i should be using. with MPC i haven't had a problem with any download. it does dolby digital and dts just fine. Please help thanks

if you open the torrent, it will say that the files ar 4GB, so its probably 1080p. will comment after done dl.

Well... I'm not sure how he got it, but it is High-def. The resolution picture size is 1920x1080 (like a normal BD resolution), and it wasn't just increased to make it seem like one either. The picture quality is also terrific... how the hell he got a hold of this is beyond me. I still don't understand how this is so small though... I downloaded Surf's Up which was in the same resolution, and it was 7 gig. Ahh well, maybe the audio was compressed a bit to make it smaller. Actually, I'm glad you did post this here. This is literally one of my favorite animated movies ever, and I have kept hoping that DreamWorks would provide it for me on BD, but they won't (they keep ignoring it). So, I say thanks for posting it ^_^. Now I get to enjoy OTH high-def goodness! RJ will look so awesome in high-def glory

How can there be a 1080p version of this movie when there hasn't been a release of this movie in Blu-Ray Disc or HD-DVD Disc yet? Seems a bit fishy to me... and normally, Hi-Def movies such as this would be around 7-10 gig... Also, to anyone who does want to chance this, make sure your monitor resolution is above 1280x800. Normal High-Def movie require (normally) 1920x1088 (somewhere around those lines) resolution.
