Newest??? But it has gone several hours???
Be careful to just call something newest without giving any versionnumber. It will say newest for maybe years (and at least then it will not be).
So we have a comming lie here! (If it isn't already)

Maybe you should boot from CD, press F2 when your computer reboots, go into Bios and set Boot Sequence.

dunto you crack me up, i think you better stick with windows for now :D
i mean its a ISO file what do you think you have to do with it to install it : )

yes you do have to burn it, put the burned disk and boot the machine you want to install it on from that disk

and i'm sure from that point you will have about 1000 more questions, good luck

of course i realize it might was a joke post, but if not its really funny

First of all i want to thank you for seeding this distribution, it has saved me a lot of time. It's much faster then downloading from their mirrors.

I post this as an reply to what pentiumd said on Nov 22 2007 at 18:12:
" Make sure u check the make a bootable image option. "

If you red instructions from knoppix FAQ you would notice following:

A common mistake made when burning ISO's: "I downloaded & burned the ISO to CD-R as a bootable data disc.
A Knoppix ISO already includes the boot instructions so it is not necessary to burn it as as a bootable data CD. Burning the ISO file as an image will automatically take care of the bootable details.

Good luck using unix.. best thing in life are free.

if you wanna run it from usb, you have to make a bootable USB...
    Follow the following steps:
    1. Download UNETBOOTIN for your current os
    2. Format your pen drive/usb in Fat32 file system (In windows just format selecting filesystem as FAT, in linux use gparted)
    3. Run UNETBOOTIN
    4. Give the location of Iso file
    5. Select your USB drive
    6. Burn
    Enjoy

This is an ISO file.U have to burn this to a cd.If u are using windows ,download a program called Imgburn from filehippo.com and install it.Using Img burn ,burn the ISO to a blank cd.Make sure u check the make a bootable image option.

Enter BIOS setup to change the boot sequence to cd rom and then hard disk. That way the computer will boot from cd first.

Since u have a bootable image on the disk the computer will boot from the cd and launch the linux distribution called knoppix.

Hope this helps and dont get discouraged by comments such as the one above-we
    were all beginners once.

Hope this helps -welcome to linux !

Is this working ok, if so I must have done something wrong. I burned a bootable cd with Magiciso, it boots ok but comes up with a load of errors, then just stops. I would like to know if anyone is actually using the cd. :? :? :?
