Graphics bugs make the game unplayable. After 3 tries and 7 wasted cd-r's, convinced it wasn't my error. Not a good bet for your bandwidth.

Hey guys, I'm running this game on a hackintosh (HP DV6245CA) which runs Leopard (10.5.2). I had a bunch of gfx glitches which made the game unplayable, so I tried the update (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/games/demos_updates/simcity4.html). But when I ran the updater, in the end it came up with a result of "internal error", but the progress bar basically reached its end... I tried running the game again, still a bunch of gfx glitches...wtf? any help? PS: I had to install this game onto an NTFS partition as well...not sure if that would affect anything (using Paragon's NTFS Mac for the NTFS read-and-write). PPS: for those that want to play without the 2nd cd, search for a torrent called '!no_cd', on TPB; it's under the section 'mac > games' cheers

Ok. So, I got the game installed and all, and everything works but one little detail. When the game launches it changes the output on my computer to the screen, and the monitor reads 'OUT OF RANGE'. I hear the game going in the background though = ) So I went (like suggested by someone else here) and downloaded an update. The update is a .sit file. I have never seen or used or heard of .sit before and can't figure out how to install the update! Help please!

I actually bought this when it first came out and have tried all the updates that have come out. It's just slow as hell when you get even just a medium sized city. Found it to be much more enjoyable to just run boot camp and use the windows version. Soooooo much faster.

hmmmm, help ... isn't quite working for me! i install per r3v0lut10n's instructions. then burn both cds, load one then the other, but neither gets me past the "load the cd" message. is there some special trick to burning the cds (besides just copying the disk image to the cd and pushing the "burn" button) that i'm missing? all advice welcomed ...

Actually,You only need burn the second CD...looks like it's the "Play Disk". Also about burning, I don't know which version of TOAST are you using, there is one thing for sure that you can find "Copy" icon in the program.Click on it and try to find "Image File"(should be find in left or right drawer if you are using TOAST 7, or on TOAST 8 would be on left side) then click "Select..." Button. Choose the second disk image and click the "burn" button. hope this would work on your mac.

So far so good with this torrent. Got it installed on my 10.4.11 2GHz MacBook and the NoCD crack linked to above works like a charm. The only issue i've found is the Universal binary beta patch from aspyr doesn't want to play nice with the install, but you can't win them all, eh? Gonna try some other stuff...

This works Read through the Comments - although the first time i installed it - the folder containing the game files was hidden..?? not sure why - I selected the applications folder then install finished wasnt there. Although every other time from then I could see it there when try to re-install. So I install to desktop - copy the folder i could then see to the applications folder. mount the empty [SimCity 4 mac•NoCD.dmg] found in post 26. and runs I have os x 10.5.6 Macbook Pro. 2.4ghz core2duo 2gb ram Prob is - its all ****y - and graphics settings have to be turned down for best performance

There is an easy fix. After downloading the files, right click the Sim City 4.toast, and select DiscImageMounter. Do the same with Sim City 4 Disc 2.toast. Then Run the installer. After installation, right click the Sim City 4 Disc 2.toast, and open it with DiscUtility. majin_streater you probably need to convert it to a .dmg file. I just helped a friend of mine install this on his macbook. Download LiquidCD to mount the .toast files. hnjunior918: insert a blank CD-R. Open the disc 2 .dmg file with Toast 8. Click the "Mount" button. Then click the big red 'burn' button. You're done! Mac_game: there are serial numbers included in the torrent. My question: This game loads fine. However, the deluxe/rush hour patch at http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12722/simcity-4-rush-hour doesn't recognize it as valid. a) Is a cracked update available anywhere? b) if not, is a full deluxe version available? Recently, the deluxe edition torrent, mirrored on here, was taken down because its host (demonoid) went off-line.
