  The Avant Garde Project is a series of 20th-century classical-experimental-electroacoustic torrents digitized from LPs whose music has in most cases never been released on CD, and so is effectively inaccessible to the vast majority of music listeners today. This is wild stuff, so check it out if you've never heard this sort of music before. The analog rig used to extract the sound from the grooves is near state-of-the-art, producing almost none of the tracking distortion or surface noise normally associated with LPs. <br /> <br /> AGP1-36 are now available for direct download in the archive at www.avantgardeproject.org<br /> AGP37-39 are available at http://thepiratebay.org/user/loudav<br /> <br /> Ignore the seeders/leechers statistics, as they often show no seeders when in fact there are some. The first two tracks in AGP40 are absurdist works for voices and instruments. The third track approaches the sound of Acustica (AGP2), by means of innovative performance techniques applied to Renaissance instruments. This track is a real treat for timbrephiles. The fourth is a work for organ and concrete sounds. AGP41 will continue next week with works from 1968-82. <br /> <br /> All tracks were transcribed from German pressings in excellent condition.
