Stevo did not make money from animals, what he did make he put back into his projects and Zoo, he lived in a standard house, had no fast cars, or expensive clothes, the guy does not deserve the idiotic postings above. RIP Steve you were a great man. Thanks for the torrent.

I agree to Deznaj's and Vergil117's point. I love animals, but I don't make money to tease, poke, chase and bother them in their natural habitat. Watch any other TV show on Nat. Geo. or Animals and you'll see how everybody else really respect animals. This Irwin guy is no scientist, he's working in a TV circus. So sure, I feel bad for the guy, but he sure ain't no modern day hero that "Changed Our World"...

Dudes, the guy was abusing animals for his own profit! Stop watching the tube and open your eyes. So what if he's dead? Thousands of people die each day. But I guess when they are not on TV they aren't worth your trouble... Irwin didn't 'abuse' animals. Sure, he disturbed their normal routine, but us humans have been doing that since the dawn of our kin. At least Irwin did it with a humane touch and in such a way, that many others donated money for animal protection 'n whatnot. He died dong what he loved. Everyone dies, sure... and on a daily basis some die, yes ... But is that reason enough to stop coming together and share our condolenced and thoughts surrounding the death of one who was known to many? I think not!

For all the anti Irwin types out there, take a trip to his zoo and you will be converted. I can assure you if you see the money he wasted (in a business sense) to ensure his charges are well cared for, you will reconsider your point of view.

Why is it people bandy the around the word conservation with out a clue what it means? Yes steve irwin was popular, yes its sad he died, but it what gives people the right to bag some one because they have a different view to his? I didnt agree with a majority (they werent all wrong) of his conservation ideas either, so I assume in your eyes I am wrong too? But then again I suppose you all live in australia and grew up in the bush too.

Well said Susieq - Steve Irwin didn't tease poke or bother animals - he made a lot of people appreciate doing exactly the opposite - Steve Irwin's 'message' was about respecting animals in their natural habitat. You have a twisted mind to miss such an obvious aspect of a great man, loved by many around the globe. In fact your minority speaks for itself!
