British TV series "Downton Abbey" is a drama that unfolds in the UK before the Second World War. The plot turns around Crowley family and its servants. The first season of the series "Downton Abbey" is in the twilight era of Edwardian era (1912-1914) in the stately home of Count Grentema that bears the name "Abbey Downton" during the reign of King George V. Scenario of the TV series is original and not based on any book. The story told in it, consists of two main lines - the arrival of a new heir to the estate, attorney Matthew Crowley, had no intention of ever becoming a lord, and a new valet, Mr. Bates. He is connected with the master of the estate by old military deal, but since then things have changed, and it seems that, apart from lameness, Bates have his evil secrets. The series begins with the death of the "Titanic" and ends with the news of the accession of Great Britain in the Great War. This, coupled with the threatening dangers of the estate, imposes a kind of imprint on the ineffable atmosphere of "Downton". It is best characterized by the word "ominous".
