Lord of the Flies (1990) Verenigde Staten Avontuur / Drama 90 minuten geregisseerd door Harry Hook met Balthazar Getty, Chris Furrh en Danuel Pipoly Na een vliegtuigcrash stranden 25 schoolkinderen en een zwaargewonde piloot op een onbewoond eiland. Een van hen, Ralph, wordt als leider gekozen. Samen met de brave maar wat vadsige Piggy probeert hij hun leven op het eiland enigszins te organiseren. Er wordt ook afgesproken dat ze op het hoogste punt van het eiland een vuur zullen maken dat dag en nacht moet blijven branden. Al snel blijkt echter dat een groep jongens, onder leiding van de ambitieuze Jack, de ernst van de zaak niet wil inzien. Ze spelen liever dan vis te vangen en jagen liever dan dat ze het vuur aanhouden. Net op het ogenblik dat ze het vuur hebben laten uitgaan, vliegt er een helikopter over. English Storyline After a plane crash in the ocean, a group of military students reach an island. Ralph organizes the boys, assigning responsibilities for each one. When the rebel Jack Merridew neglects the fire camp and they lose the chance to be seen by a helicopter, the group split under the leadership of Jack. While Ralph rationalizes the procedures, Jack returns to the primitivism, using the fear for the unknown (in a metaphor to the religion) to control the other boys, and hunting and chasing pigs, stealing the possession of Ralph's group and even killing people.
