Clint Eastwood shot a multifaceted film about war, raised a lot of problems, some of which practically do not speak or say little unfair. Movie about heroes, real or imaginary, of the former soldiers find their place in a peaceful life of the rapidly passing glory, about soldiers' brotherhood ... The film of master of the Hollywood cinema actually turned out very deep, but, unfortunately, quite controversial. The picture tells the story of the battles for the island of Iwo Jima during World War II. At the centre of the plot - the fate of the U.S. Army Marines who hoisted the American flag atop Mount Suribati. Incidentally, the image of a captured this moment - a real historical fact. Photographer Joe Rosenthal received the Pulitzer Prize for it. Some sources claim that after the installation of a small detachment of the flag survived the Japanese moved to the offensive, again took the top of Suribati and threw an American flag raised in its place Japanese. The top two more times, passed from hand to hand until it finally won by the Americans. But official Washington (as, indeed, and Eastwood in the film) has denied changing the flag.
