Number seven became a magic lucky number for one of the most legendary alternative rock bands. Californication is the seventh studio album released in June 1999 which became their magnum opus so far and won the admiration of millions of listeners worldwide for the group. The immense success of the album is commonly connected to the return of the group’s former guitarist John Frusciante who left in 1992 to enjoy licentious lifestyle full of drugs and women and alcohol. However, it was John Frusciante who contributed a lot to the success of two previous albums by the group. So this album only proved that John’s outstanding ability to change the whole musical pattern of the group making it sound stronger and more contemporary has built the entire Pepper’s success. This album is also praised by the improved and mature vocals by the group’s front man Anthony Kiedis. Logically Californication became the bestselling album by the group.
