1g is very bulky compared to the 2g. the main difference is that the 2g has volume control buttons on the side and has a built in speaker. there is no ipod touch 3g!

worked flawlessly! i don't know what the rest of the folks here are talking about. i just downloaded, extracted it (saved to my documents, not the desktop) and followed the steps. it worked perfect on my ipod touch 2g and i have all the new features like the bluetooth and landscape keyboard. spotlight is kinda cool too. one thing i did was to disable my internet connection. so if it doesn't work, then try doing that. thanks wiccey! i guess i owe you 10 *****!

I did the following:- 1) Downloaded iTunes 8.2 from http://www.apple.com/ !!!!!!!!!! 2) Installed it on my Computer @@@@@@@@@@ 3) Selected my iPod Touch from the Devices list ########## 4) Holded the shift button and clicked the 'Check For Update' option. $$$$$$$$$$ 5) Located iPod Toch Firmware IPSW file and opened it. ^&^&^&^&^& 6) Waited for a while. *%*%*%*%*% 7) It's over. Works Perfectly!!!!!I m now enjoying every advantages of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. Thanx to the Uploader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what i meant by disabling the internet was that i disabled it on my computer prior to doing this whole thing. (if you install a lot of pirated stuff, like me, this step solves most of the problems of things not working about 99% of the time) internet on ipod works fine.

NM! Apparently it has to be in "My Documents" and not a subfolder within it. Same steps now work. Thanks!
