The reason, of course, is the resignation of Sir Terry Wogan, so long undisputed king of waspish Euro-wit and the reason many people tuned in. But if anyone can follow the master it's Graham Norton, who's not averse to the odd acerbic remark himself. Of course, there are changes to the competition, too: for one thing, the system has been revamped to get rid of bloc voting. And the general view is that the combination of UK representative Jade Ewen and an Andrew Lloyd Webber belter is promising. So with luck the title of the UK entry - It's My Time - will turn out to be prophetic. Let's hope not everything's...
