Followed the instruction ... done the manual restart ... updated database PERFECT ... 24*** days free. Many thanks and much love deep1. @progeny13th I am using win7, so the first thing I did was turn off UAC, then started the install and followed the instruction word for word. Once I had restarted my PC I updated NOD to latest db and turned UAC back on.

Hi deep1, thanks for posting back. My os is vista and no not used eset before. I did all the stuff you said above and it works fine, even scanned and cleaned a few files on my pc. But when it trys to update the virus signature database it says "invalid username and password". Now if the eset server just sees it as a trial version updating, then why does it say I need a password? Actually, I don't mind too much if I have to uninstall once a week, and then reinstall to get a weekly update. Free is free after all. Would this work? Thanks for the work deep1

I've tried several times and followed the instructions exactly. I still can't get it to update though and it's very frustrating. I heard that sometimes it takes many tries to finally get it to update....is this true?
