hi i have a question about this file the uploader calls it BDrip..what is the difference between this file which is 1.43gb and the other one 4.37gb? Also the uninvited BDRip that is only 1.34gb and the 4.35gb? please can someone make this clear...

blurayfan, BDRip is a 'blu-ray Disc Rip' directly from a Blu-ray disc. BRRip is an encode from a BDRip (ex: this one lists: "Original Source: The Last Word 2008 720p BluRay x264-CiNEFiLE" BDRips are typically MKV or sometimes VC-1 (aka HD WMV) files that require a fast processor and above average graphics capabilities to play. SecretMyth BRRips are more open tracker friendly/popular file size and in a more palatable format (will play on a PS3 for example). They're a sort of balance between the quality afforded by a 4 to 8 GB BDRip and those offered by your typical DVDRip. Basically, the h.264 codec was created to produce a similar quality to earlier codecs (DivX/XviD) at half the file size, and with each new patched build of the x264 encoder its compression abilities continue to improve. 'Scene' BDRip sizes are a bit obsene in that sense. Frame for frame there's not a lot of diff between a SM BRRip and them, at a fraction of the file size.

Helldad, If you are just trying to watch this on your computer your media player should output the sound in the channel format for you. You don't need any extra codecs if you have a player that supports this file format. KMPlayer: Right click screen > Options > Preferences > Audio Processing > Resample Output > Under 'speakers' choose your setup (ex: '2/0; stereo') VLC Player: Start playing a video > Audio > audio Device > select what best matches your setup. Also, some soundcards come with software that will always combine channel input to match your speaker setup from any audio source.

major, solve one more problem pls. will the h.264 codec run on the new blu ray players? this format doesnt run on my present dvd players (they support only divx i guess)
