In most of his discussions Hovind talks about historical events with eyewitness accounts (ie. an ancient silver bell found inside a coal vein supposedly millions of years old) and how it relates to both evolution Theory and his own beliefs. I personally do not agree with his ice meteor theory and some of his other theories, but just because you do not agree with someone's conclusions does not mean that the issues he raises are not worth looking at and thinking through for yourself. For anyone interested in a different theory do a search on Dr. Walt Brown who has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. In his online book, he raises a variety of observations from biology, astonomy, earth sciences, and physical sciences.

Thanks for this, MVGroup. And I just wanted to add my two cents: There really is no scientific debate regarding the basic facts of evolution. As a theory, it has alrady stood up to test after test with admirable tenacity. Of course, there are many questions still to be answered, but Walt Brown's creationist textbook does not contribute anything to this effort. It merely confuses the real issues with false dichotomies and misleading definitions. His theories are not reasonable alternatives because they are based on fundamental misconceptions. If anyone is really interested in learning more about evolution, I would recommend The Blind Watchmaker by Dawkins.
