I must say without doubt this is the best converter I ever used. I needed to convert an .avi and a .mkv file to .wmv for streaming. Both were ripped from blu-ray so the quality was impeccable. I ran the convert on the best settings and the .wmv came out just as super on the quality perfectly in sync with audio, which is an issue with other converters. Give this a try if you use Xillisoft because this is better.

@Wot909 I would stick with ConvertXtoDvd for making straight DVD .vob's but for anything else this is a good app. I havent tried making DVD files from say an .avi yet for this app, maybe someone can post their results.

OK I just did a DVD from an .avi and it is perfect, creates the vob, bup, and ifo files...Excellent audio and video. Looks like I have a new tool for my multi media work.

The best thing about this app is that it is very easy to use and configure. It is quite quick as well but if you convert large files it will be longer of course. Runs great on Vista64 to boot.

I've used this converter in the past and it was solid except the fact that it has NO 5.1 support! Everything was output to mp3... Is this still the case?

I have a question that I can't find the answer to anywhere - I hope someone here can help me. I downloaded this file, installed no problem. I already had AVS installed, so I converted the same file (avi to dvd) with both. Both were set to highest possible quality. But the resulting file set was 7.49G for AVS, and only 2.77G with UVC. Can anyone tell me why?

Yes, the quality of the larger file was much better. The smaller file stuttered and skipped.

Found this to be a better converter than previous one I used from AVS, especially for loading stuff to Archos 605 through Win XP. Great, clean torrent (checked with AVG and Malewarebytes). Big thanks to PlanetMaster.
