I downloaded two of these Genesis albums (no problems downloading), but when I tried to play them on iTunes on my Mac all I got was scratchy static. I tried to convert them the M4A files which worked (all though they came out at double the Mega Bit size as the flac. files) , still would not play on iTunes , still static, tried to burn to CD, nothing but static. Can anybody help?

You cant burn them to cd as they are too large. I am a quality freak so I dont know much about ipods or mp3 but at a guess I would imagine that the problems you are having is due to the fact that these recordings are done in 96khz. CD requires 44.1khz so what you need to do is convert them to 44.1khz wav files and THEN you will be able to make mp3 and mp4 from them. A program like cool edit pro (now called adobe audition) will do this for you. There will be others too but you will have to search. The feature you require is "sample rate conversion" Convert it to 16bit 44.1khz. Thanks to the uploader for these masters and a very special thanks to the person who went to all the trouble of doing such a professional job on these classic albums. Darrell, I play all my music using winamp which is free from www.winamp.com. They should also play on windows media player but winamp has better sound!
