hey man.... i just wanna know the difference between using a trial resetter and keys??? ( and i don't mean the license period) - I meant, is there any diiference in the service ??? like if you reset KIS 2009, wud sum features be disable or anything like that????

...Well the "key" I was using just died today. ...So, I am using this resetter with success! Here are my steps: Here are the steps: 01) With the program "extracted" don't run it - yet! 02) With Kaspersky running "normally" from the system tray, click twice on the icon. 03) At the main "Protection" menu, click on "Application Filtering"...select "settings..." 04) In the "Application Filtering" area, click on the "Settings" button. 05) In the "Applications" tab, click on the "Trusted" folder - the "Add" option should activate... 06) Now click on the blue "Add..." item at the bottom. 07) Navagate to where "Kaspersky 2009 Trial Reset_.exe" is located, click on it and press the "open" button. 08) You should now see it added to the "trusted" area, and it should have all "green checks" next to it. 09) It should have changed to "WindowsApplication1" with the kaspersky logo in front of it. 10) Click on "WindowsApplication1" and click the "Edit..." option at the bottom. 11) With the "rules for application" open, click on the "Exclusions" tab. 12) Check all the boxes (Do not scan opened files, Do not monitor application activity, Do not scan network trafffic). 13) Click "OK" button and the "rules for application" window will close. 14) Click the "OK" button to close out the "rules settings" window. 15) Back at the "Settings" window, change from "System Security" on the left side, and click on "Options". 16) Under "Self-defence" un-check "Enable Self-Defense". 15) Next, click the "Apply" button and then the "OK" button on the "Settings" page. 16) Close Kapersky window, and then fully exit Kaspersky from the tool bar. You should get a message "not protected". =-> If you do not do this (stop Kaspersky fully), your system might freeze or become unstable when you run the trial reset! 17) Now run "Kaspersky 2009 Trial Reset_.exe" - select your OS version, click "OK" and you should get a "success" message. 18) When this finishes the "Kaspersky 2009 Trial Reset_.exe" program will close out and Kaspersky will start. 19) Select trial license and Kaspersky will do a connection, get your updates. 20) If your computer complains about "trial version", just click on the yellow or red button and a window will open. 21) The message "Trial version of the application is installed" will show. Click on it and click button to "Hide Message". 22) You can close out the message window, and your system should be "green" and protected! 23) Well, you are fully protected for 30 days, in which you will have to do this all over again.. or find/buy a key! A few notes: 1) You are now only protected for 30 days, so you will have to get a key or redo the above steps again when your "trial" ends. 2) In "redoing" these steps, you should not have to redo the "Application Filtering" again (unless you move the trial file). 3) You will need to un-check "Enable Self-Defense" again, because Kaspersky will enable it automaticly again when it starts. 4) Redo steps should only be; Step 2 then Step 15 to 23. 5) And yes, the "trial" version is the full running version. ==== Hope this helps! The program doesn't act any differently if you run it with a key or by using the "trial version". Nothing is "disabled" or anything like that - you have a full working version by using either method. === Using this resetter allows you to keep running the "trial version" after it stops after 30 days. Therefore after "resetting" your trial version you will get another 30 days of a "trial version" which is still the full working version...just like the key version. :) === So, I hope this answers your question(s). Your options are: 1) Reset Kaspersky every 30 days. 2) Find a key, wait until it's blacklisted (usually 30 - 60 days). 3) Buy a key, or have your daddy buy you one! 4) Or don't use Kaspersky! ======== Cheers! According to a re-run of Virustotal scan it is now identified as Riskware, please see http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/141f673168d1bf22c4acf458bec70762 by 11 out of 40 antivirus applications. I don't know if it means something, or if they are just helpful to Kaspersky, to scare people away from this resetter, or if it is a true threat.

Hope this helps. Speaking of "help" inside Kaspersky there is a internal help on how to use the program. You can do a search for "self-defense" in the help menu. You should be able to find the help button in the lower left corner on the main page (next to the support button). The help doesn't go on the internet... support does..:) =============== Cheers!
