Howdi - can someone report if is this a scan or a real e-book (ie. can you select text *as* text from the pages). It looks pretty big for an e-book, but I'm hoping that's due to lots of colour photographs.

It's a scan. Very high quality PDF. Pictures look sharp even at 300%. I'm not sure what the first poster means by selecting text as text, but you can copy and paste text from the PDF to Word or wherever you like....

Higglebottom - I meant the distinction between a graphic scan of the dead tree version, versus an e-book generated electronically from the original source material. That is, if you select a lump of text, does it come in as text (individual characters, etc) or does it come across as a bitmap of that text. Both will paste into a word processor, but the former is useful whereas the latter is .. well, not so much. Hagawaga - thank you so much for your thoughtful and considered comment.

Okay - I downloaded it. For anyone else that may be interested, it's 1295 pages (explains the size), quality is excellent (yes, this has already been observed) and it is not one of those dreaded page scan jobs, but a text-liftable genuine e-book. Happy times indeed. Hagawaga - you're still a numpty.
