Movie is great quality! Question: I have an external hard drive that I hook directly to my ps3 to play HD movies. Obviously a .mkv format is incompatible, but an .m2ts video format is. I have a macbook pro computer, and the Tsmuxergui program. I tried importing the .mkv file to convert it to .m2ts format, but it will not recognize any .mkv format movie. Any suggestions on what to do?

patrick6410 maybe get the latest version if you dont have it. (1.8.4) if that dosent work there are a number of software programs you can use. mkv2vob and GOTsent are a start. Note: you wont be able to get this on an external Hard drive for playback on the ps3. the movie file is to big for the FAT32 format. and FAT32 is all the ps3 will recognize. your only way around this is to download ubunt or yellowdog as a secondary OS on the ps3 and run the movies of an external hard drive that is formated in NTFS. or just split your movie up. im currently trying to figure out encoding so i can just get some of these 720p rips and rencode with a lower bitrate to fit on ps3, but still look good. or better then the standard dvd rip.

I already have a few movies in the .m2ts format on my external hard drive, and my external 320gb hard drive is in a fat32 format. I can just hook up through USB and play those movies on my ps3, which are anywhere from 4-8gb, so I don't see what you mean about the file being too big.

i dont mean the size of your hard drive, i mean the size of the movie. if you look under the title it says Type: Video > Highres - Movies Files:2 Size:4.37GiB so the size of the movie is 4.37 GiB witch obviously isnt to big to fit on the external hard drive that is 320GiB but the FAT32 format wont allow you to transfer a file that big.
