For telnet under windows vista you need to install it by going to Turn Windows features on or off in Programs and Features in Control Panel.

first of all thanks for this good tutorial! second i have a question.. after reading this tut, i'm trying to connect to the yahoo mail server using telnet.. my firewall is allowing the conection through but the dos prompt is giving this message: - connecting to d.mx.mail.yahoo.com... could not open connection to the host on port 23: Connect failed... the same happens if i try any other mail server... is this because my router is blocking it? means i have to make my router open port 23 for outgoing connections? also is it enough to enable telnet client in vista or do i have to make my laptop as a telnet server also?

ok i got it fixed.. i just opened up the telnet port on my router for outgoing connections... just a note.. sending mail through telnet is not as straightforward as described.. hotmail and yahoo eem to have disabled it.. i can only send from gmail to another gmail address.. however there are many free smtp mail servers online.. just have t do a little google digging... and btw this is not completely "untraceable".. just good enough to prank your friends or cause some scares.. don't use it for extortion or blackmail lol

Is there any way to insert a subject? This works but goes right to junk mail. The filter kills it. rbenrais , just type in the word "Data" without the quotation marks. Yes his typing wasn't the best. His thing works though, just need to be able to get past the junk mail filters.
