i like your stuff but there tends to be a pattern,awesome start,hold the groove till 20 min mark where you take it up acouple of yokes and simply kick ass for 10 to 15 mins where you will suddenly drop to ambiance almost then little pumps in and out till abig end pump,now i was wondering if you could stick all your 20 to say 35 min marks together on one nonstop kick ass set,if you wddint mind bro.

@user : ratatat Hi. great question. Basically you know that electronic music doesn't follow the same BPM when comparing particular genres. However, with proper knowledge of what key you will be in from your master to cue during the physical mix, and knowledge the bpm the tunes your working with are (at natural pitch) will allow you to build a cross genre mix. With planning and practice you can mix any 32 or 64 count track with the opposite. For instance, Hip Hop (32)and DnB(32 or 64) match fairly well because of the matching 64 beat scales and 90/180 BPM between the two allows the snares to hit how you see fit when you've got your tempo locked.

Mathmatically it is totally exponential. Now, this can lead to some serious pitch changes from the natural rotation from one track to another for a dj but as long as they are in key and you time your cut well, you'll just flow with the sound. Finally, Trance House Tribal Breaks are all the same count(4 counts of four per phrase) so as long as they flow in key and on tempo then its just like jay said, style. Or you could go the way of Squarepusher and make you tracks give people brain damage when they try to mix them. Sorry about the Blah but you asked Stay funky ratatat-
