Knowing that killing a member of his own gang for personal reasons will turn the rest of the members against him, he calls Chris to help him dispose of the body, telling him that Ralph was already dead and he doesn't know who killed him. Even in his heroin-induced haze, Chris sees the truth but still helps to get rid of the body.
