@charlesboyer Because you dont have to unrarred it play the file, you thereby safe space on your harddrive and making it easier to reseed later on (who saves rar files ?!?).

"Already up by me with good amount of seeders." Who cares? Is it a race or what? Better unrar 1st, so ppl keep seeding! Rars are really unneccasary and add no functionality whatsoever. BT has it's own fault correction protocol.

Thanks! I prefer the rars, though. I think it's faster and I don't mind about having a few gigs more on my 3x1TB hdds.

RARing: The good thing about rar is that if there is a problem with the file you download, you can see exactly which part it is and redownload only that rar file or report it. Also, if the rars can be successfully unrared, then you can be sure that the resulting file is fault free.

1) I agree that putting up torrents with the file unrarred is a better idea, as I dump all my torrents after i seed to 1.1 to free up space. I have to extract it to store it on my network, so why would I hold on to both rars? 2) Excuse that using rars is better because if you have a corrupt file you only need to replace one file is stupid when applying it to torrents. Torrents split the file up in to parts and hash each piece, so if you "force recheck" your torrents, it will redownload whatever small portion is corrupt. No need for rar's when torrenting.

unrar is also better for NAS users (or other slow devices), so we wont have to transfer the data back and forth with a PC to get it unrarred

You're right, they are not faster; but there is something better about them, isn't there? Perhaps it's a lot easier to upload them to servers?! Well, why are are the releases rared anyway? It's not smaller when it's video, I think, so can anybody explain that? The private trackers have rars always? Why, then? Well, I don't care, really! Your uploads are (more or less) fast -jonny- and never have any faults or anything. What would tpb be without you? I would like what you need to do to get a nice pink skeleton beside your name? Probably upload very much? Why is the quality rating of this torrent -2 ? I didn't saw the movie yet, but quality is as good as always?! Thanks.

Well, I always give it a (+), when everything is fine. I just read an interesting post in a forum that said something about rars "but it eases my workload and the load on my hard drive." - GreatWizard. You might know him, well, that's perhaps true and that is possible because of the smaller size of the rars...well; BUT it's absolutely not very clever to have several versions of the same content on the tracker, is it now? Better have ONE large swarm than two smaller ones, I think. I observed that that usually provides better speed IF you have enough upload yourself... By the way: You are more likely to be connected with peers that live near you --> faster speed. Use Azureus: Nice plugin - Ono I do not know whether it really works, but I do get more connections from EU since I use it..that's a good thing--> faster, less costs.

I like the unrared ones better generally in spite of errors that may occur because it's much easier to seed because i am constantly filling up and erasing this hard drive.... I can just leave it up seeding and still watch it without having to unrar the file and then delete the torrent files :)

I got it right before watching the Globes last night when this film got the best Motion Picture for a Comedy or Musical. Can't wait to watch it. it would be nice to see The Wrestler (****** Rourke got best Actor for this- Golden Globes ) and Slumdog Millionaire (Golden Globes -Best Motion Picture-Drama) in 720p format next. Don't even know when they plan to release the blu-ray versions for these two films, but I'm sure you'll be on them. thanks again for your hard work.
