"Meet the Spartans" - satirical comedy from Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. The film is based on the blockbuster "300." The filmmakers make fun of many blockbuster movies - thriller "Rocky Balboa", thriller "Ghost Rider", a fantastic action "Transformers" and others, as well as television shows "a la" American Idol, and show business stars - Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. This is a story about a brave and courageous, Leonidas (Sean Maguire), who was brought up in quite harsh conditions. Once getting on the South Pole, and entered the fight with the evil penguin, Leonidas returns home as a hero and became a king. But one day, Ambassador brings to Leonidas terrible news that the Persians are in Sparta. Without hesitation the king stands at the head of thirteen Spartans-thugs to defend the homeland. Another story at the movie is about the reality show American Idol. Well directors have great fun over the characters of the show, and the jury, particularly Paula Abdul, which in this show often gets drunk and lets incomprehensible jokes. Got thoroughly and the advertising industry!
