I have a small problem...Ive downloaded this torrent, and even though utorrent says "100 %", when I open the containing folder, its only the movie "The two towers" plus the samples for the other two movies...???? when I open the folders for the other movies, there is a movie file with the right name, but it doesnt work...Very strange!!! I write because Ive downloaded this one TWICE just to be sure, but its the same problem both times. Has anyone else experienced the same???

currently seeding at 600kB/s, ratio 2.895 and i will continue to seed... i dont know too much about the audio channel modification and how that effects the system/computer/console played on, but i know 5.1 channels sound amazing on my surround system. is there a way to include the 5.1 channel sound as an external file that can be accessed and synced to the video ?

Call me a nub, but I can't do anything with these files. I have Nero 7 and have had no problem playing/burning mp4 before, except for this and just the fellowship in the original trilogy (two towers and return of the king no problem). I right click and there is no properties. AVS converter doesn't pick them up either. Like I say, I've had no problem with mp4 before this, this thing took days to download, so I have to ask, wtf?

1515, I think I see the problem... Cass 2008 LIMITED BRRip H264-KingBen Audio Codec: mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC Bitrate: 586 KBS Sample Rate: 48000Hz Channel Count: 6 Unlike PS3, XBox can't handle the 5.1ch audio. It needs to be 2ch. If you want you could demux the raw streams with Yamb (mp4Box GUI) and convert the audio to 2ch with LameXP, then mux the 2ch with the h264 video back into an mp4 container with Yamb. sounds complicated, but it isn't and would only take 10-15 minutes or so. Maybe 30min for your first time reading guides and all. Guide for Yamb: http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/MP4_Usage_Guide_page5.html LameXP: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/LameXP Just install, let it update, and try to run it. When you try to convert AAC the first time it will give you a link to download Nero's AAC Encoder. I didn't realise the retail discs are in two parts to. I just wanted to merge the two movies parts together as I watch movies straight from my pc or ps3 and would like it to be one straight play through without having to choose part 2. So isit possible for me to do that? Also anyone got a link with instructions on what I do with the sub titles? for the parts they speak gibberish so I can read it in english. Thanks

Bren86, You could merge the mp4 files with Yamb.... http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/MP4_Usage_Guide_page5.html ...but then merging the subs will be much more tricky, especially as they are IDX & SUB. See here: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/merging-2-subtitles-files-into-1-t325546.html Make sure you know long the first video file is before you merge them. or, don't merge them. Just play the files in VLC Player and as long as the video & subs are named as they are in the same folder VLC will load them automatically, but you might have to go to 'Video > Subtitle Track > and choose the track to see them. Also, with VLC you can create a playlist that will play the part 1 & 2 files in succession (Tools > Playlist > Plus (+) button > Add file > browse to & select the file).

Bren86, And/Or burn the files with subs to DVD with ConvertxtoDVD (I'm sure you can find a good torrent of it if you try) ConvertxtoDVD can burn to a DVD parts 1 & 2 and will load the subs automatically just like VLC (subs will be an option in the DVD Menu you can turn on/off, not hardcoded). You can just drag parts 1 & 2 into ConvertX & then expand the (top) 'DVD Options' chain and select 'play titles one after another'. I guess I should have mentioned that for as long as most of these parts 1 & 2 Extended editions would be put together, ConvertXtoDVD will likely say the quality will be "poor" for a single layer DVD (generally speaking, you can put ~3 1/2 hrs or so on a DVD-5 before it will say that). You can choose to convert it anyway, and if the source is as pristine as these look to be, it may not look bad at all (I've done it before) but it seems a bit of a shame to sacrifice any of the high quality afforded by these ~2000bps AVC H264 rips, especially on a movie such as this. Seems like if you were going to value the quality and put them on one disc you might want to consider using dual layer DVDs. You'd have to change the encoding settings in ConvertX to do that (Settings > Encoding > for 'Target Size' choose 'DVD-9(8100mb)')

OK I finished downloading these. I paused long enough to play each file - skipping through each a bit and made sure the subs worked/were in sync - and it should go without saying, but here it is anyway, the quality seems flawless. Beautiful. Now I'm back to seeding it for a while longer. One thing did throw me for a loop though, at least for a few minutes. On the fist one, 'The Fellowship of the Ring', it wouldn't play at all at first, not in VLC Player, KMPlayer, Media Player Classic, nada. Not until I moved the file. It seems the file name was too long for where my default download folder was. Moving it to my desktop and it plays just fine. Then I moved it back and shortened the file name and it played fine then too. Then, relieved that's all it was, I put the file name back to what it was and now it's seeding again.

SwisS2008, The forced subtitles for the non-Eng spoken parts (ex: the Elfish spoken scene that begins at 01:02:40 on Fellowship of the Ring disc 2) are not hardcoded. They are, however, part of the full ENG subtitle files (IDX/SUB) included with each.

lpark, the subs worked just fine for me in ConvertXtoDVD. Make sure the subtitles and the video are in the same folder and that they share the same filename (They already are named correctly but you do have to take them out of the subtitle folder and put both the .sub and .idx files directly into the same folder as the video file) then load the video. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2lxctwo&s=4 The first discs have 5 different subtitle tracks in the idx & sub files that gave me a strange error over and over in the log in ConvertxtoDVD as it converted (the second and third LOTR movies only had one sub track and didn't do this), however I just ignored it and the resulting DVD plays just fine. Of the five sub tracks (which you can see on the finished DVD or in VLC Player before converting), the first one is the full subtitle and track 5 is just the forced subtitles for the non-English speaking parts. I didn't even mess with the tracks in between enough to know or care what all they were.

hatemf90, Yes. Actually, "this H264 thing" is the reason this same torrent isn't more than 14-18 GBs for a comparable quality. Could someone explain why this torrent is 3 GB per movie for 720x304 with two channel sound while the ones posted by SecretMyth are about 2 GB each with 1280x528 and 5 channel sound? Why are these files so much bigger? Am I missing something? I want a high quality copy of this movie to keep on my PS3 and a smaller file is of course appreciated so it seems SecretMyth is the right choice unless I am missing some information.
