  The thuringian Johann Michael M&uuml;ller was music director and organist in the Hanau (Hessia) court. He composed almost only church music, and this compilation (c. 1710) appears to be his only secular work. It's unusuallly conservative in its contrasting a solo oboe with a ripieno group not of strings, but of other oboes, in tipically early french style. The music is an intriguing and varied mix of french suite-style, and german and italian influences.
