To say it was a Turbulent time musically is a "huge Understatement" The Magic Blues Band,Top Jimmy, "X" The Mentors, Lester Butler, Billy Campbell, Rod Piazza, James Harmon, Levi Dexter, King Cotton, Juke Logan, Melvis & The Megatones, Maggie Mayall & the Cadillacs, Randy Chortcoff & his Midnight Rhythm Rockers, William Clark, Johnny Dyer, Hollywood Fats, Luke Long Gone Miles, Katy Segal, Bruce Willis & the Heaters, and so many more great groups were playing all over the place Cathay De Grande, The Lighthouse, The Stage West, Crayons, The Starboard Attitude, Cafe Boogaloo, Bogart's, Hollywood Atheletic Club, The Red Velvet, Club lingerie, King King, Taurus Tavern, Music Machine, The Pioneer Club,Original Babe & Ricky's Inn and more were putting out raging Punk/Blues/Retro/Roots Shows every night of the week! The Magic Blues Band Held Court at several places on a regular basis and this Magic Blues Band was famous for presenting all weekend long Mini Festivals and Theme Nights. The List of Stars that attended was astounding, Sam Taylor, Juke Logan, Randy Chortcoff, Timmy Capella / Tina Turner, J D Nicholson, George Harmonica Smith, Pee Wee Creighton, Smoky Wilson, Finas Tasby, Billy Campbell some of the most famous of these were Magic Blues Band Pimp & Hooker Nights at The Stage West and their 4 year run on Friday and Saturday Nights at The Starboard Attitude in Redondo Beach on The Pier. Rippin' Rockin" Girls dancin' with Snakes and Castin Spells all over the place! These Shows would put Champion Jack Dupree's Blues From The Gutter and Natural and Soulful Blues "House Party" to Shame Unbelieveable parties week after week night after night! this Band fused Texas Music of Rocky Jackson with Chess sound of Paul Zubek and the earliest of 50's Blues & Rhythm Sounds of John Lee Williamson. The Group Fronted shows for 12+ Years all over the west coast with huge and loyal followings all the time.
