<pre>Here we are people, again, one of the better RPG's I've ever enountered. This is the predecessor to the Neverwinter Nights games a lot of you kids are familar with today. This game won more awards than many RPG's of its time, and truly was one of the most genre defining RPG's of the 90's outside of perhaps diablo. If you've played any Black Isle or Bioware RPG's (Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, Mass Effect, etc.) in the past, this interface will be very familar to you. VERY open ended. You are allowed to progress, or NOT to progress as you see fit in this game. Everything has consequences from who you fight, to who you love, to how you talk. You will lead a dynamic party of up to six adventurers, and sometimes its just as much of an adventure trying to keep the various members of the party from getting at each others throats! Long story short, one of the best i've played, and a game that actually got me through a quite traumatic point of my life (as weird as that sounds...) If you enjoy Dungeons & Dragons, RPG's, novels set in the Forgotten Realms universe, or just love fantasy and a great time in general, try this out. I very much so doubt you'll be disappointed. Included in this package are the original retail .iso's for Baldur's Gate, an iso of the original retail Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and a complete walk through of the main game. BE WARNED this walk through has tons of spoilers, and I actually feel bad including it because I don't want anyone to miss some of the amazing plot twists this storyline has because they're lazy or don't want to think through a puzzle. However, it's still there. As usual, Daemon Tools, PowerISO, MagicISO, or the like is necessary to mount the .iso's, or you can simply burn them to standard CD format and install them manually. Remember, I am only one man, and only have one internet connection! Help me seed people! I will repay you by bringing you more of the good stuff faster! Enjoy Folks! Let me know what you think! oh and i have covered gamecopyworld.. haven't tried the expansion just yet again.. wife is almost at the end of baldur's gate so i dont want to make a mistake somewhere and lose all that info. lol but yes as far as games go i tend to try every little possibility that there is to the game.. even compatibility modes.. baldur's gate runs just fine without a compatibility check. i will certainly let you know if i run into any other problems or issues but so far smooth sailing for the most part

i am a bit disappointed with this game...it is not the diablo type hack and slash like the baldurs gate i played on my playstation (dark alliance 1 & 2)..is there a playstation 2 emulator for PC that i can use to play the dark alliance games??? and after the company broke up they actually made a really good game very similar to baldurs gate but i forgot the name of the game otherwise the game works perfectly fine after i mounted it using daemon tools lite...

i have a question for you Slashbak.. did you have to go and find a program to make this game compatible with Vista? i am just curious before i go installing it on here.. my wife wanted me to find this game and when i found not one but two of them she was giddy so i am hoping that i wont have to go through the amount of drama with this as i did with a few other games i had to spend two hours looking for vista patches for.. also could you also tell me what ghost drive programs out there are compatible with vista as well? thank you for your time

Slashbak, okay i just installed the game no compatibility issues on my end.. i have to wonder though if the Tales of the Sword Coast is included in the install. there are 6 disks files at least but only needed one for the install.. you have to play the game with the disc file mounted.. other than that the game runs ultra smooth. i used Alcohol 120% to install (daemon tools for some reason said no your a wh*re and didn't want to install) go fig.. lol

i did find one issue and this is for people who may play this game on Vista.. since vista has issues with memory (no matter how much you have in your machine) there is a chance that the game will lock up completely when you have to switch disks.. it's random but my wife was playing today and she had that issue so i used Alcohol 120% and burnt the files to disk and now for some reason it works without fail.. will tag the 6th disk and see what happens.. i thought it odd that the game had 5 disks in total xD i will leave an update for Tals of the Sword Coast when i am done.

okay so i installed Tales of the Sword Coast.. since assuming that it was part of the whole lot and was the expansion for Baldurs gate.. well.. i ran into a few issues here and there so i had to fully remove it from the comp.. when you go to play the game whatever missions you were doing in baldur's gate it turns around converts the save files to the mission pack files so nothing you've done is saved from the stand alone game.. so i was like okay then so i turned around and exited the game.. no harm no foul right? well when i went to go load the game up again i got a wierd error message and the game stopped working.. which i thought was odd but hey that's just me! anyways i have come to the conclusion that Vista does not like the expansion to this game or it may just be because i did something wrong. dunno will run further experiments and see what i come up with.

Works Beautifully. Make sure you install ALL the pieces of the game (including the movies) if you don't want to have to keep putting in discs.
