Actually 2ch offers better compatibility because XBox & Popcorn Hour users (I'm not positive but I suspect Apple TV users too) couldn't play Secret's 5.1 rips unless they wanted to go through the trouble of converting the audio to 2ch which involved demultiplexing (demuxing/removing) the raw audio & video streams and converting the audio to 2 ch then muxing it with the video back into the mp4 container. Until there is more standalone support for 5.1 ch it makes more sense to just provide the 2ch or else do what they've been doing with Release-Lounge's ( http://www.mininova.org/search/?search=release-lounge ) H264 rips and they supply the 5.1 ch audio separately along with a guide for how to mux it into the video. I suspect Secret's joining with the Kingdom RG is the reason for the changes so the RG will have a consistent standard and that the increased compatibility of 2ch H264 will appeal to a larger audience.

I could be wrong about why. That's just my assumption as most RGs seem to have some kind of standard that all of the rippers try to share instead of everyone just doing their own thing. imho, Instead of just complaining about it to Secret, people ought to be complaining to MS about the XBox not supporting 5.1 ch, and to standalone DVD player manufacturers too. There's no real reason they can't offer H264 compatibility so that a burned disc in H264 MP4 format will play instead of having to convert it to DVD first like so many DVD players do with DivX/Xvid AVIs, and I'm sure they would in a heartbeat if they knew from enough people that there would be a market for it.
