Disregard my last comment. It did in fact work. Now I have a new problem. For whatever reason, I can't update the databases. "an error occured during the update (invalid server or proxy settings)" It had this problem before I applied the patch though, on the legit trial license, so the problem doesn't have to do with the patch. But there's nothing wrong with my internet connection. And I don't use a proxy. The patch did indeed work, and my license doesn't expire for several decades.

I apologize for flooding the comments. But from what I can tell, the update server http://upgrade.bitdefender.com/ seems to be iffy. In case anyone needs them, here are some alternates: http://update.bitdefender.com http://upgrade1.bitdefender.com http://upgrade2.bitdefender.com I used http://upgrade1.bitdefender.com and it worked, after the default server failed. This has been too much hassle, i couldn't make sense of the help file because it had two different methods of installing and patching that weren't written in particularly clear english; Do i change the hosts file, use a serial from the text file AND use the patch or what? To reztacio, I think you are right. Bit defender fixed this file after upgrade in daily patches. The crack no longer works. The updated version of Bit Defender shows version 2009 Build 12.0.12 To Master Uploader, Do you have a patch to fix this issue

the patch still works, after you have updated it will go to new version of bitdefender, reboot and after the reboot, bitdefender will say there is 1 issue effecting your system. Click fix issue, now uncheck something about activation.......issue fixed carry on using this great piece of software.....cheers to vishboy for the info peace karl123

READ COMMENT #155 and follow that procedure. Works great! Note: This download is for 32-bit XP/Vista only! For those with 64-bit XP/Vista you're going to need to download the 64-bit total security 2009 trial version and you can use the patch updates from there. No need to input the two host files in system32\driver\etc. I didn't do that and it still works. Download the manual updates in bitdefender's website called "weekly.exe".

Another thing to add is better to set your bitdefender program to prompt for updates instead to have it silently automatically installing updates. It's good to have signature updates installed. However if it installs a newer version update of total security then you will LOSE your activation and your days will become 0. So then stick to signature updates instead. Works a lot better with XP 32-bit or 64-bit. I tried it on Vista 64-bit but it caused me errors, blank interface page and glitches.

Thanks for the upload. Still trying to get used to a new anti-virus program but it seems to be working fine. When i'm in basic view it says Expires in 0 days but when i go to the registration tab in the advanced view it says expires in 14123 days so i don't know what's up with that. BUT, 2 days after installing, and several retstarts, i can no longer access the main Bit Defender control panel. I can still run scans, use game mode, update, but i cant change the settings or anything like that. click on the bit defender icon in the taskbar, nothing happens. click the icon on the desktop, nothing happens click the .exe in program files, nothing happens click the icon in the start menu, nothing happens... im sure it still protects me from viruses and such perfectly, but its just a bit worrying that i can access the main menu to change settings... anyone else get this?

Do not do the 127.0.0.1 matrix.bitdefender.com 127.0.0.1 update.bitdefender.com step. All it does is change the update server and matrix server to that of your own loopback interface on your computer. When it wants to update, it thinks that your computer is the server. Avoid that step like azmak92 did and it works fine. Still, great work MasterUploader.

I think I messed something up. It's says the key is invalid. I got confused in the directions when it said use the BDIS key and I put in one of the serial numbers on the big list. It seemed to work, but now it says it's expired. Also I didn't do the pasting in the properties in the beginning because it's says to paste it anywhere in the file and I don't know what that meant. The only place to put it would be in the title of the file. I'm very confused. I'm sure it works fine, but I can't figure it out. Could someone pretty please help me out?

Got it installed and working until I rebooted. Then it says the serial number is expired. Tried about half the serial numbers on the included list, every one of them is expired. Downloaded the keygen by Heartbug and every number I tried that it generated comes up as expired. Any idea what I can do to get a good serial number and make this app work?

Ok I figured out what to do... Ok so when it asks you for the key click that you want to use the same one, it will then set you up in trial mode for 30 days. After you do that open up the patch included and basically do step #2 in the instructions thats what I did and it works fine for me thanks alot Master Uploader!

I always trust MasterUploaders stuff as I have had no problems in the past, and he is always quick to respond to any problems that occur. What I'm curious in writting this time is that you MasterUploader stated at post 18 you don't have Bitdefender, but AVG, are you saying that AVG is better than Bitdefender or is that your personal preference. Followed instructions upto entry of serial then started the trial version, updated the software whilst in trial version then applied patch and its working brilliantly! AVG found 3 trojans but I asked an IT guy and he said they were false positives. ±10³/10²

@ casey_dreshaj comment # 75. the reason u are getting that error is bcuz ur OS is not installed in ur C: driver. the patch locates the necessary file in the C drive only and patches them. What u have 2 do is install ur OS in ur C drive. Using Vista is not rili the issue... i faced the same problem and i re-installed my xp in my c drive. the patch works great now.

never mind about that last post i managed to do it thanks anyway but guys be careful when i installed the bitdefender the computer restarted and all of a sudden it slowed down like hell i tried to remove it with the add/remove programs and it stuck the only way i had to was to delete using a special program i doubt it was the uploader that did the trouble i think it is the program itself or maybe the patch anyway thanks Master uploader!!!

I installed this with varied results, on the one hand its a nice prog and the patch (which is identified as a virus by BD itself, I'm just hoping for it only being a false positive) works like a charm. I have noticed that it causes my gaming pc to crash... at least, it started crashing after installing this so I'll go ahead and blame this for it. Also on my other system, for some reason or another, I cannot get the BD icon to show up in my system tray... Checked all the settings and whatnot and still haven't figured that out. BD is a very nice security suite so I'd recommend this, but I might be trying a few others like Panda. Two more things... if you just need a firewall and aren't on a 64 bit OS, go with ZoneAlarm ISS 7... and to the people talking about Norton, NORTON IS ****. Unless you like resource hogs... 4/5 TY MasterUploader

WOW....tha's a lot of comments. Now i installed this... and it works great.... really it does. But then i ran into some problems. 1. When it automatically updates, it realises with key is invalid and renders the program useless. Manual updates work fine, but once connected to the internet. same thing happens. 2. i downloaded the software from the site and used the keys here...same problem. 3. thanks for the upload. this torrent works great on my machine but done minor manipulation. I did not install the bitdef2009 installer included in this package (because ran into some troubles like pc hangs and become very very slow upon installation) instead i downloaded the newest from the bitdefender site. Then I restarted my pc after installation, apply the patch, restarts again. And then haha it works!

I got Mcafee installed in my laptop and detected it. I know that many of you would not believe me so I would like the answer will come from MasterUploader himself. @ bossybon the virus that is detected is a false positive, it is the patch, when you install bitdefender, even this will detect it as a virus (keygen). i recomend malwarebytes anti malware which doesn't give false positives. Get this from http://www.mininova.org/tor/2343459

When i was downloading this torrent, i ran hijack this to record all my processes that were running, just to see which ones were running at the time. When i opened the install exe for bit defender, i had tsk manager open to see if any other .exe's launched besides that one, the ones that were supposed to launch DID. when i launched the patch.exe, i had tsk manager open, and more than 1 .exe's launched, called wscntfy.exe which i googled...it is SPYWARE, a KEYLOGGER, nice try idiot. i can't believe no one has found out about this yet, but everyone check your process list who have runned the patch and you'll see this file, detail about this file is here, http://www.spywareremove.com/removewscntfyexe.html I found it unusual that this exe runned in the backround as soon as i clicked the patch, so its obvious its a keylogger, a very good one at that, but MasterUPloader, what an *******

The patch works like a dream and gives you over 40 years of licence..I had trouble in getting the setup file to work so i went to the Bit Defender web site and downloaded b/d anti virus and then used the patch....Jobs a good un...Thanx Master Uploader just what i was lookin for..not **** virus attached that locks you out of your PC..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

thanks for the upload firstly Secondly, after completion there is a repeated error when the updates are being downloaded?! "An error occurred during the update (HTTP error 404)" What does this mean?

Uploader, Installed fine. However when I try to update, I get "An error occurred during the update (HTTP error 404)" Therefore I had to go to the website and download a manual update. Is there any fix on this?

I'm not sure uploader but after install I went back to the host file and removed the things you had me add in. I restarted and the updates work fine and BitDefender didn't report it as a pirated serial... So if you have update problems, go back to the host file where you had to type in something about: update.bitdefender.com matrix.bitdefender.com and delete that and save the file (make sure you take read only attributes off). Then when your done, save and turn it back on. Restart and updates should work.

Ok, I'm still a newbie when it comes to this kind of stuff but i dont know where to find the instructions in system information. And some error always comes up before it opens saying it doesn't recognize it. Someone plz help.

When I Click On Setup.exe It gives Me An Error Message:- Error creating process <c:\Users\****\Locals\Temp\ixp000.tmp\setup.exe>. Reason: The system cannot find the file specified. can anyone help me out with this..

Thanks Masteruploader for your hard work. I installed the BitDefender as per your instruction and it worked fine. only problem I had was when I clicked the update button it was giving me an error message. Then I pasted the below with "#" in the host file and it updated and worked fine. # 127.0.0.1 matrix.bitdefender.com # 127.0.0.1 update.bitdefender.com

works beautifully with one exception. when i try to enable the firewall i get this error- "cant communicate with the bitdefender virus shield service" i have windows firewall disabled, and i have connected BitDefender to my network. any ideas? thanks in advance. -ROOT

Normally I don't comment, but I feel like I have to here. I downloaded this, followed the instructions EXACTLY, step by step, and IT WORKS PERFECTLY! So much for my old "BitDefender 2008 AntiVirus". Now I have the whole damn security suite... 2009 version... for FREE!!! Mwahahahahahaaaaaaaa!! Love it. Instructions may be a bit confusing to some, but if you simply read them and take the time to do them, it works perfectly and I just wanted to leave this comment saying what a great job you did with this. Thanks again!
