Ulrich Seidl - known Austrian documentary filmmaker, decided to try his hand at feature films. Although, in fact, his new film, "Import-Export" is not much of a documentary film and different. The filmmakers of "Import-export" are trying to disprove the saying, "the good place is where we are not," and show that "there" is not so good. The film shows the two stories are not related to each other but complement each other. Olga, a nurse from a provincial Ukrainian town, lives with her mother, brother and young son in a small apartment. Money as always is not enough, and she decided to go to Austria, where she has to work washing dishes, caring for the elderly, to appear in pornographic films. Paul from Austria has the same situation with finances, but he went to Ukraine. Together with his father he wants to sell slot machines, but falls into the criminal showdowns with competitors. Two young people, eager to start a new life, faced with the harsh reality. Two stories about the search for happiness and material gains, the dark side of sexuality and death and how difficult it is to brush the teeth of stuffed fox. In the film, "Import-Export" are starring Catherine Cancer (main role debut) and Susanne Lothar ("The Piano Teacher").
