The music: more grim than usual punk-like VF, this album is great to listen to when you're alone, sad, or think you're too happy. Songs such as "Nothing Worth Living For", "Mother of a Girl", and especially "See My Ships" are beautifully made songs that exhibit the excellent musicianship skills of the Femmes. The insert art: beautifully 80's black-and-white with melancholy-looking band members distracted by a contrasting red "3". This is one of the few albums that I like to keep re-reading the insert while listening to the music. The band itself: at this point, the Femmes were already adults, past their crazy high-school rage stage, yet at the same time they lost none of their youthful vigor and spunk. Overall, I wish I could give this album more than 5 stars - it is entertaining and satisfying in all aspects. A must for anyone who likes rock music.
