Their self-titled debut album was released

on November 21, 2006. The disc reached #1 for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard

200, outsold Idol winner Taylor Hicks' debut effort, and sold more than 3 million copies.

Their album is also the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history.

THE "Daughtry" HISTORY
Former American Idol season 5 fourth-place finisher Chris Daughtry stated that he would form

a new band after turning down Fuel's offer to make him their lead singer.[2] On July 10,

2006 it was announced that Chris had signed with 19 Entertainment and RCA Records, which

holds contracts with fellow American Idol finalists Kelly Clarkson, Bo Bice, Kellie Pickler

and Katharine McPhee.
Chris is a singer-songwriter himself and has collaborated with several other songwriters,

such as Live's Ed Kowalczyk, Fuel's Carl Bell, Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down, Rob Thomas of

Matchbox Twenty, SR-71 singer Mitch Allan,[3] Brent Smith of Shinedown and Chad Kroeger of

Nickelback.
Daughtry himself didn't have much of a hand in who was in his new band. Chris's label chose

band mates for Daughtry: Jeremy Brady, 21, a guitarist and at this point no longer in the

band; Josh Steely, 36, as lead guitarist; Josh Paul, 29, as bassist who also played for

Suicidal Tendencies; Joey Barnes, 30, as drummer. Two of the band members hail from North

Carolina - Joey, whom Chris had known for some time, and Jeremy, who was introduced to him a

month before the audition. Steely and Paul are both from California.[4]
The band's self-titled debut album, which was produced by Howard Benson, was released by 19

Entertainment and RCA Records on November 21, 2006.[3] Hit writers Dr. Luke and Max Martin

contributed to the album. Session drummer Josh Freese played drums on all the tracks for the

album. The album's first single, "It's Not Over", debuted on the radio on December 6, 2006,

after being delayed from a planned September release.[3] The song was an instant success,

shooting up the Billboard Hot 100 reaching #4 and hitting the top 3 in several other charts.

"It's Not Over" bears a resemblance to Fuel's hit song "Hemorrhage (In my Hands)" (the two

songs share a similar key and chord progression, among other elements), which Chris Daughtry

performed on American Idol on March 1, 2006.
Jeremy Brady's departure from Daughtry was announced on January 26, 2007.[5]
The second single from the album, "Home" peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, after

debuting at #83 weeks ahead of its official release to radio. The song was also the official

"kick off" song on sixth season of American Idol, played after a contestant was voted off

the show.
The album's third single, " What I Want", was released to rock radio on April 23, 2007. The

song features Slash on lead guitars. It has peaked at number 6 on the rock charts.
Their song "There and Back Again" is the official theme song for WWE Backlash 2007.
Their debut album was certified Triple Platinum on June 21, 2007.
The band's fourth single "Over You" was released July 24, 2007. The band performed this

single live on Good Morning America on June 1, 2007.[6]
"Crashed", the album's fifth single, was released to rock stations on September 10, 2007.

THE "Daughtry" TOUR
The band has been touring non-stop since January 2007. They have done shows across the U.S.

and Canada, along with a show in the UK in June. They opened for Nickelback for a brief

stint, Puddle of Mudd, and Finger Eleven and have featured 12 Stones and rock phenom Cinder

Road as opening acts. On May 27, 2007, the band performed during the Indianapolis 500 Pre-

Race show on ABC, and headlined the 2007 Summerfest at the Marcus amphitheater with a crowd

of more than 15,000 on July 7.
Their upcoming fall dates include performing in Rockford, Illinois after a brief stint at

Carthage College of Kenosha, Wisconsin. They also plan to play in Australia for the first

time in October and opening for Bon Jovi for several shows in November at the new Prudential

Center in Newark, New Jersey.
On September 8, 2007, Daughtry preformed 'Crashed' on the Pre-Race show on ABC for the

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Chevy Rock and Roll 400.

THE "Daughtry" CURRENT BAND MEMBERS
* Chris Daughtry – Vocals, guitar (2006—present)
* Brian Craddock – Rhythm guitar, vocals (2007—present)
* Josh Steely – Lead guitar (2006—present)
* Josh Paul – Bass guitar, vocals (2006—present)
* Joey Barnes – Drums, percussion vocals (2006—present)

THE "Daughtry" FORMER BAND MEMBERS
* Jeremy Brady – Guitar (2006—2007)

THE "Daughtry" DISCOGRAPHY
"Daughtry"
* Released: November 21, 2006
* Peak chart positions:
#1 U.S. Billboard 200 (2 weeks)
#1 U.S. Billboard Top Rock Albums (14 weeks)
#1 U.S. Billboard Top Internet Albums
#1 U.S. Billboard Top Digital Albums
#1 U.S. Billboard Comprehensive Albums
#13 U.K. Album
#2 U.K. Rock Album
* U.S. sales: 3,266,000 (50 weeks)
* RIAA certification: 3x Platinum
* Worldwide sales: 4 million+
* Singles:
1. "It's Not Over" 1,876,000 point sales
2. "Home" 1,181,000 points sales
3. "What I Want"
4. "Over You"
5. "Crashed"
6. "Feels Like Tonight"

THE "Daughtry" AWARDS
2007 American Music Awards
* Breakthrough Artist
* Best Adult Contemporary Artist
[Info From And @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daughtry_(band)]

Have A Blast !!!
[DeadPoet]

Respect 2 H33T.com
