This show is lame! The host (Jeremy Clarkson Rip-off) Looks more like John Farnham with bad hair!!! The UK show is a bit fake at times but at least the hosts are genuine. This Aussie ripp-off show has losers trying to imitate rather than being themselves. And the challenges / segments are pointless and try hard! ****!

Quite a joke really. Been a fan of top gear for years and always will be. Thanks to the Aussie version for gods sake. Purchacing my gtr v-spek thanks to top gear uk. Glad the aussie version didnt present it as i would have purchased, god forbid, a Ford or Holden.

For a first effort, it was alright. Much better than gay hosts of this season of Fifth Gear. As mchuelio says, let's give it 4 or 5 weeks to settle in.

this was great! Top Gear is never on long enough in the year, now we get an extra season!! the guys will take a season to settle in (as did the Brits when they started - how awful were they back then!!)

Just a warning, I watched this as it aired on SBS-TV... and it is BEYOND terrible. I hated it. It tries to be a clone of the UK version. Even down to a poorly delivered STIG intro by a man trying to do a poor Clarkson impersonation. The other guy is a whiny Aussie ******.. I can't stand it! This will not get any better!! They should have been inspired by Top Gear UK, not tried to clone and even act like the original hosts.

@gideon9595 : it is part of a franchise. The format is set by the BBC. The US version will be similar. The segments are set, the structure is set and the look is set. Within those parameters, I think they did a pretty good job for a first time out. This is the first official franchise of Top Gear. It could have been a lot worse. Does it replace the original - no way. Does it sit along side it ? I think it will, given time.

I really do understand that it is a set format. But the poor casting, and the strained delivery, and the overly Aussie slant on an unneeded Stig intro made me switch off. I did flick back during other programs commercial breaks... and was still unimpressed.
