The show's tag-line is &quot;exploring the history of ideas&quot; and subject matter jumps eclectically from science to history, literature, religion and philosophy. The experts are almost always erudite and able to explain the sometimes-complex material so as to be understandable to the reasonably educated layman.<br /> <br /> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Notes</span><!--underline--><br /> I'm fairly sure that this torrent includes all of the episodes of In Our Time that were broadcast in 2002. There wasn't a programme on April 18th due to coverage of the Budget.<br /> <br /> The 2002 programmes date from the period when the BBC was just starting to make content available on-line and the process was somewhat haphazard. The three early episodes that are only 28 minutes long are the result of using the edited repeat rather than the full-length original (In Our Time has an abbreviated repeat on the same day as the live broadcast in a 30 minute evening slot). The quality of the RealAudio streams varies significantly from week to week but is always acceptable. Finally, one or two of these MP3 files feature the odd extraneous beep - this is entirely my fault.
