OK - with no HD version of Doctor Who being transmitted and a better quality source , *THIS* is where the HQ Editions really begin to shine ;) Full broadcast resolution , 720x576 , anamorphic 16:9. For those looking for an easy way to play these files , I suggest using VLC to play them. (though installing the CoreAVC decoder will yield better performance) For those looking to make DVD's from these files , I suggest using VSO's ConvertXtoDVD.

lol at sephirophx serbusfish the original video bitrate is around 4300k for bbc1 but also with on the fly mpeg-2. while good this file is not transparent to the source so with 2 pass xvid around 1900k (which should give about 700mb if 128k audio for 45min) should be more then sufficient if converting these with 2 pass xvid.

Someone else posted Doctor Who S04E12 The Stolen Earth HQ Edition x264 2 days ago But since there was no MM in it, I was pretty sure that it was not a sneak. Which is why it is important to look who posted it. But on here you dont stay logged on so it could be a mistake so that [MM] is important.

Been waiting ages for this, many thanks Mad Martha I do have a question though, in order to get these files to play on my xbox 360 I have to convert them to avi, and the file size usually comes out at just over a gb. This is because I convert them using a bitrate rating of 6000kb/s. is this too much? Im not sure what bitrate the original files are encoded at, any ideas? If its lower than 6000kb/s I may be able to reduce my file sizes.
