there has been no unlock yet, so this isn't necessary.
How to install the firmware:
***** If you NEVER upgraded iTunes to v8.0 and *****
***** and your iTunes v7.7 has previously been *****
***** "PWNED", please skip to step 5 !!! *****
1) Uninstall iTunes 8 and every process that you can find associated with it.
(mobile device drivers, quicktime, and so on)
2) Install iTunes v7.7 (search for it on filehippo.com)
3) PWN your iTunes v7.7 with winpwn, this allows it to restore to custom firmware
www.winpwn.com ....
***** Remember, we are just clicking on the "pwn iTunes button" nothing more!!! *****
After this is done, we no longer have any use for the winpwn program.
Note: May need to build a dummy .ipsw to activate the 'pwn iTunes button'.
But, once the button becomes avaiable, click it and you can exit out
of the program.
4) Reboot PC. Connect your iPhone. Exit out of iTunes v7.7 when it pops open.
5) DL FusionX custom firmware & place on desktop.
6) Next, hold power+home for 10 seconds together and after 10 seconds, let go
of ONLY the power button and continue to hold your home button. Your iPhone
will go into 'DFU' mode and iTunes will appear. It will say something about
restore and you press ok.
7) Hold shift key, while you press the restore button in iTunes and it'll allow you to
browse for the custom FusionX firmware that was placed on your desktop. Let it go
through the restoration process and boom your 3g is now jailbroken!
8) Uninstall iTunes v7.7 and reinstall v8.0...
9) Sync and you are good to go.
How to install those custom applications:
1. Install SSH through Cydia...
******************************************************************************
I'd also install the 'SSH toggler button' avaiable in the Cydia packaging.
SSH remains on by default even after you are done using it. SSH can drain
a lot of battery, so you want to disable it when you are finished!!!
******************************************************************************
2. Enable WIFI on your iPhone, log into your network, and write down its IP address
3. Open CUTE FTP.... and set it up as SFTP on SSH2
4. Put in your iPhone's IP address
5. Put in your iPhone's credentials - username: root password: alpine
6. Create a folder called Documents in /var/mobile/ and set permission to 777
7. Create a folder called Documents in the /Applications folder and set permissions to 777. This will fix the Disk Full error message seen when launching the game
ΓÇöΓÇöΓÇöNote: You will only need to create these two Documents folders onceΓÇöΓÇöΓÇö
8. Go to <root> ΓÇ£/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.frameworkΓÇ¥
9. Rename the file ΓÇ£MobileInstallationΓÇ¥ to ΓÇ£MobileInstallation.bakΓÇ¥
10. Look for the patched MobileInstallation file in it's own folder located inside the zip
11. Place the patched file into the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework folder and set the permissions 775 for the patched MobileInstallation file
12. Reboot your iPhone
13. Download at least one App from Apple App Store and sync it (Free or Paid)
IMPORTANT: Otherwise you will get an error! [Only need to do this once]
14. Now you can download cracked .ipa Games and Apps
15. Double click on the cracked .ipa you downloaded for it to show up in the iTunes applications
16. Sync your iPhone/iPod Touch and enjoy
17. Remember to turn off SSH when done (stays on by default and drains battery)
