I have not installed this yet, but do believe that it is a real build. To install it google blackberry os 4.5 instructions But basically you need to have the newest BlackBerry Desktop Manager (4.5) it is available as a free download from the BlackBerry dot com website support >> Downloads. Install it first, then install the OS on your computer. Desktop Manager will ask if you want to update your device when you sync the next time using Application Updater. I'm sure I am missing some steps. You may have to remove a Vendor XML file, but I am not sure about this build. I'll add more when I install. Cheers

yes, you need to download the latest blackberry desktop manager 4.5. i also had delete this file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader >>> delete vendor.xml file." then just install this executable and synch with desktop manager and it'll upgrade. it'll take a while. if you get an error while installing, reboot your pc and blackberry and try again. it worked the second time for me.

Great free stuff you can find at http://www.blackberryfreeware.org/ and at eDonkey (but be careful the the latter, it might contain viruses).

Question: If I do go ahead and install this os 4.5 on my Verizon 8830 Blackberry will it brick? How stable is this? Is there a way to test it out and go back to older os versions if it doesn't work?
