Um the file I ended up with was not a .ipsw file. It was a restore file or something. Don't same I'm ****ing ******** cause I know what I'm doing. I downloaded this one (http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4288442/iPod1_1_2.0_5A345_Restore.ipsw_ipod_touch_2.0_firmware_) and it seems to be working. But hey if this worked for you more power to you.

This worked gr8. I upgraded from 1.1.5 to 2.0 and then using iTunes upgraded to 2.2. All under 45 min. thanks for the upload and the comments guys.. for any one having doubt/problem installing this follow #22 as it is step by step. this works for bot Mac and Windows. iTunes 7.7 and up, upgrade to 2.0 took about 10 min. couple of restarts, itunes backs up your settings. so when you reboot the ipod, itunes gives you the option to resync all your settings inc music files. provided you still have access to the itunes lib. once you upgrade to 2.0, use itunes to upgrae to 2.2. this takes about 20-25 min as it has to download the 2.2 which is about 250MB. so it really depends on your connection speed. it will upgrade to 2.2, reboot and re-sync. thanks up-loader for the FW. I have a little bit of a situation here and you might helo me out... Well as always I downloaded the last version of ZiPhone, but I forgot completely to restore my ipod to normal firmware before doing the jailbreak, after a couple of minutes my ipod was kind of dead, in a continous cycle of the same command, wich is: "BSD: root: md0, major 2, minor 0" that command repeats itself and it never ends 'till the battery is completely gone! Now Ziphone and iTunes doesn't even recognize the iPod, what should I do now? Thanks for the help.

Worked perfectly well on my iPod. Mine was jailbroken, I never restored it, and the update still installed fine. Also, there is no reason that this shouldn't work with a brand new iPod touch. It's the same exact file iTunes downloads after you pay the 10 *****.

flaviojesus- ziphone is only for 1.1.4 bro.. you gotta wait till he makes one for 2.0 just keep trying to restore in (menu + sleep for like 18 sec) try and try; it happend to me it should work then. [[next time dont jailbreak 2.0]] hope i helped.

My Touch was also 1.1.4 and jailbroken and this installed or rather restored just fine. To use: 1. plug in your iPod and sync with iTunes. 2. hold down the "Option" (Mac) / "Ctrl" (Windows) key and click the "Restore" button. This will open a dialog where you select this ipsw file you downloaded. 3. wait for up to 30 minutes. 4. when prompted in iTunes, choose to do a restore so you won't loose any info or settings.

#2 put it into restore-mode and try again. . . there are a couple of site that explain how to get your ipod touch into restore mode.. i am not shure but it could be something like - Hold the Lock-button and homebutton for more then 10 seconds - release the home button and wait another 10-20 seconds till the restore picture comes up (cable) another way is this... - turn off ipod - hold Home-button and plug in your connector-cable (while holding home-button) hope this helps. i had ipod 2.0 jailbroken 240d installed on my ipod and just used itunes 7.7 (no internet connection ) and shift-clicked update to install this file here.. and it works ! but without an account @ itunes there is no freaking way getting those apps to download

It totally worked. My ipod touch was 1.1.4 ziphone jailbroken, and I did the restore and 12 minutes and 2 reboots later, I have 2.0 with nothing on it. All there settings were still there, notes, clocks, weather wifi...et cetera

Thank you, very much! iPod Touch 16 Gb - windows XP pro installed perfectly. I didn't succeed with any other software: jailbreak, ziphone, etc. Unluckyly it erased all my songs and precious videos... As I didn't have an iTunes account, I googled and found a way by getting credits to download some silly songs and at the same time, opening an iTunes account that wouldn't ask me for a credit card. All these was required to now be able to download all the free apps that are possible in the new iPod Touch software. See Lifehacker.

My ipod touch was 1.1.4 jailbroken. - Update itunes to 7.7 - Download this torrent - Open Itunes, hold shift and press "restore" - A box will open and you will select the torrent you download "iPod1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore" - You will have to wait like 5-20 minutes then you will have your ipod touch 2.0 . This works! I had version 1.1.5 and just followed the steps under comment #22. The only difference is that I had to use the alt (option) button on my MAC instead of SHIFT. To find the RESTORE button: once you plug in your ipod, select it under the DEVICES area. Then it will be displayed on your right, under the SUMMARY tab. You will be able to see the version and capacity. It will also ask if you want to UPDATE or RESTORE, hold down 'alt' or 'shift' then click RESTORE. A window will open and you will be able to select the file you downloaded. Thanks uploader!!!

BTW, I search the net about this update and says if you have this firmware, you can download the 2.2 on iTunes directly.. is that true, I just need confirmations... Thanks for the up loader anyway...

Great Job Man! This Worked on my 1.1.4 Firmware. I was at 1.1.5 and decided to downgrade for a more safer outcome. installed this 2.0 firmware and it works wonders. i would recommend this one!!!

Kind of a stupid question, if I select "Update" instead of "Restore" with this firmware with my 1.1.4 Ipod Touch...what would happen? Would it update INSTEAD of restore (all my songs will still be there yada yada) or would it complete restore? I don't have all my songs in my Library so risking a restore means losing song. Nor have I been able to find a free/cracked transfer program that works for it Any thoughts?
