As for now in my opinion Opera 9 is faster and less memory consuming than FF2, so im still sceptical when im thinkin about ff3

don't download firefox 3 ****s it slows my pc very much through my rams are 2 gb,hard disk 120g,speed 3.2,also using vista never had a problem with broweser like firefox mail is tarekarslan_2@hotmail.com i prefer firefox older versions this one have somes bad bugs like refreshing pages more than 3 times to open laos connection something like 700 speed adsl so it's very speedy

Opera or any other browser out there cannot beat Firefox 3 at anything. Safari was surely faster than FF2 but FF3 loads text and images as quickly as Safari and thats what matters to the user.

lolz @ Hyperion (comment #11) - random, but it made me laugh. I personally like to stick with Firefox 2 (or for those who are more picky, 2.0.0.14 to be exact ) - the only other browsers I've used are Internet Explorer 5 (quite a while ago) and AOL VR (boy, was that rubbish), but I'll think I might give Firefox 3 a go. is this meant for only fast/new machines? i have only a amd athlon 1.7ghz 1gig ram. Machine is running fine at moment , using firefox and IE at moment. Guess will need to watch video.

To everyone who said firefox 3 slowed down their computer: Firefox 3 is the second fastest and most customizable browser! Safari, however, beat it in speed, but safari isnt near as customizable. Opera, Netscape, and all those are below firefox and safari! (IE6 came in 3rd place for the 'fastest', btw)
