Tutor is still not working right from the tools menu. Maybe I have a bad download I will try downloading it again and see if I still have errors. There should be no problem inserting a problem 2x^2+7x and having it go through the step by step differentiation rules without getting an error that it is not in algebraic form. If someone sees a problem with that please let me know. Thnx

2x^2+7x should be written as 2*x^2+7*x. You have to insert a * between the coefficient and the variable.

The Calculus tutor is broken. One problem that comes up in step by step differentiation is the following error: "the expression {f(x) here} must be in algebraic format of x". I've gotten it to work a couple of times and once for a complex expression but mostly it fails even for something as simple as 2x^2+7. Other parts of the tutor are also broken.

Oh by the way I should mention that the above comment refers to the tour section of the program... i have not yet tested the main calculus tutor program seeing that i just found it in the help section.

just copy the license dat file then go to c drive, prog files, then maplesoft 12 , then find license then paste the file there! gdluck

Hello All, I've done as dyesoft said. i.e Install, paste and run. Maple 12 works fine but I can't seem to access: table, drawing, plot and spreadsheet. Has anyone else had this problem? Cheers

I downloaded it last night and ran through the tour. Looks great. The interface has changed from Maple 11, and it looks a lot sleeker. The graphics work. I'll run through some finance worksheets later, but this is the real deal! Thanks loads! Team TBE! BTW, I'm an American expatriate professor in Mongolia. I always teach my students that theft of property - including intellectual property - is wrong. But I also tell them that all students should have access to the best materials from which to learn and improve themselves. Bottom line - I don't have the resources to purchase this stuff. If/when I ever grow some savings, I'll send ***** back to Maplesoft. But for now, I believe it's more important to share this type of calculating resource with the less fortunate to help them improve their capabilities - especially in science and engineering... Anyway, I ramble...

For people who can't figure out how to activate. This is from the NFO file: 1.) install 2.) use single-user licensing 3.) choose activate later 4.) copy [license.dat] to [C:\Program Files\Maple 12\license]
