What the fuck?! I saw this movie a few years ago, and while I thank FXG for giving us a new rip, I have to say that for Charlie Chaplin, this movie was pretty lame. Very few funny sketches and the ending when taken in context looks naive and stupid. Anyway you've been warned. Don't expect a funny movie, like you're accustomed from Charlie Chaplin.

The best films by Hollywood were mad in 1940's!!!!! They include Casablanca, Citizen Kane( Hollywood's Best Film), great dictator, etc., Thx for reminding us of this truth. Truly OLD IS GOLD. Also, I can't thank u enough for uploading a talkie film of Charlie Chaplin. Wow I never knew of this fact till now!!!

I've seen this movie before. It is truly under-appreciated. Charlie Chaplin was going against the grain when he made this movie, criticizing the one and only Adolf Hitler. It's message is still completely valid today.

are most people these days blind? this has an atrocious funhouse faked/distorted aspect ratio of 1.835:1; it gets a +5 quality rating, completely ignoring that the aspect ratio SUCKS. everyone in this film looks like he got squashed by an anvil. WTF. the correct aspect ratio is 1.37:1. shame on you, FXG_team.

FXG, I wonder if you would please consider uploading another movie of the WWII era. Mrs. Miniver (1942) has a 7.7 IMDB rating. Sat is England, it starred Greer Garson, Gregory Peck, and Teresa Wright, and was considered the best wartime movie throughout the WWII years.

Charlie Chaplin was a true artist...the way his films seemed to be just comedies when infact there were a lot of serious political ideals in the films (some of them very subtle). Does anyone know if there is a complete collecton of his films online? I have most of them on VHS but the quality obviously isn't very good. I would love to see the Charlie Chaplin movie where he was a boxer (The Ring I think it was called).

omg are there any adults that use mininova or is it just me? this movie is a oldie but goodie. but please to say one uploder is better then another is stupid at best, especially if the one who says it hasent ever attempted to upload. nice to see old movies for DL i have this release on dvd along with a ton of others for those that desire check target or wal mart they have some pretty good boxed sets around the holidays.

Great movie! @langton try keeping your monitors off and keep it over night... make sure all the other programs are closed.. more in memory= more power usage also quad core or i7 processors are far more power efficient

First of all: thanks for this upload. But why didn't anyone mention the aspect ratio? It's 1.835:1 (624 x 340) which is close to 16:9 but it should be more like 4:3.
