hey can someone tell me how to get this to work i downloaded, unrarred , put the map config.rar in my documents .... and unrarred it also "as i didnt know if it had to be unrarred", then i uninstalled all my daemon tools and stuff like that and downloaded latest daemon tools lite then i watched the comments here and downloaded the new "mini image" and mounted that one but it keeps on saying "plz insert correct dvd" (or something like that) so then i tried adding the reg file to my registry (that worked) but no change , still not playing... oh and also did the msconfig thingie gizmo told us. can somebody help ?? i would liek to play the game

ok this is what i did: put config.rar on Documents and Settings then mount the mini image with DT lite double click on the icon of Worldshift in the Bin carpet and it take about 10 min to say insert the dvd what am I doing wrong?? and sorry for my english =)

I have no idea what I am doing wrong here. I am unrar the files to my game directory. I then, unrar the configuration files as per the read me file (document & settings/**myname**). I then mount the mini image using daemon tools. Then I double click on the “worldshift” icon, I get the disc icon to pop up, then I wait for a few minutes I get the error “Please Insert Original DVD of “WorldShift”…what am I doing wrong? gizmolio, try and fix this problem... Alcohol, PowerISO and DaemonTools say that the Image is Invalid... Both of the images... A lot of ppl have this problem...

I was having problems with the mini image untill I removed my old Daemon Tools and installed the latest version. The image mounted with no errors but the game still wouldn't start so I moved the game from my desktop to a folder in my program files directory and now the games loads up perfectly. The above mini-image from rapid share also works, but when i clicked the link i got a server error until i deleted the underscore between the word rapid___share. Thanks to skullptura for another fine piece of work.

U can't play, this is only for online or lan multiplayer and you need an unique serial. I dont understand that Skullptura uploads something that doesnt seem to work. Or am I wrong here?

@9 You are completely wrong here... How could this be an only mp LAN or mp version??? You cant play online with rips (as far as i know) plus skullptura rips never need unique serials! This is an RTS it must have an sp... BTW thanks for the rip even if i dont like strategies

I was sooo wrong, pls excuse me. At the start menu, you have 2 options, LAN & online. I didnt even bothered to check out the LAN-option, which contains the single player modus. Everyone, this works 100%!!!!

You have to mount it as an IDE device, not as a SCSI device. Don't ask me what the difference is cuz I don't know, all I know is that it worked for me.

Using Vista x64, I can't get the image to mount properly with daemon tools lite 4.12. After mounting the image I can't browse to it through my computer. If I try unmounting it and mounting it again, daemon tools becomes busy and unresponsive and I have to kill it for anything to work. Trying to run the game at any point during this process doesn't work--I just get the busy cursor and it just sits like that until i kill the process.

nevermind my previous post, I got it to work somehow, somewhat: mount the image start the game then I got the worldshift busy cursor (spinning disk) then i wait about TEN MINUTES then the game starts again, this is vista x64 using dt lite 4123

One more thing: I tried updating the game using the in-game update system. After finishing the download the patcher gave an error message saying the game wasn't installed properly and wouldn't patch it (at least that's what I gathered--the error message was in german). I tried importing the registry file but it didn't change anything.

Thanks for the upload. I did the update, placed the the necassary contents in to the proper Documents n Settings folder, mounted with Daemon Lite. After a few minutes the game starts, but prompts me enter a Validation Key which I dont have. Any help will be appreciated.

EDIT: I found the key @ the bottom of the ReadMe file. I apologize for the unnecassary previous post. Great game so far. Lighting is incredible as someone mentioned above me.

ok, I figured out why the patch was failing. for everyone else who is running 64 bit windows: the reg file only works for 32bit windows. On 64bit you need to run %WinDir%\SysWOW64\regedit.exe then File -> Import then choose the reg file (make sure all the paths in the reg file are correct first) Btw, when i start the first mission, the cutscene is in german and the subtitles only say "intro_line_1" and "intro_line_2", etc. I'm pretty sure i installed config.rar correctly. oh i forgot 2> extract files Copy "Config.rar" content to "Documents and Settings\your_name" extract config.rar in "Documents and Settings\your_name" folder I don't know if u nid 2 extract(config.rar) it simply because its a rar, skullptura didn't mention 2 extract it but i extracted it and it work for me.

hi all ok to fix this error "There was an error loading the PhysX engine!. u need to right click on worldshift file and slect Run as administrator. it work for me. u might need to have user account control on too i am not sure (UAC). any one no how to get the subtitles working mine just say intro line 1,2 etc. or uploading the videos in english from worldshift.CLONEDVD-PROCYON it english so some might be able to upload them if they download it.ok hope i help and buy.

This worked for me, running on 64bit Vista: 1-downloaded this rip 2-extracted it to my F:\ partition (im just saying this that it doesn't have to be on the same partition and stuff) 3-copied config.rar to my C:\ partition to documents&settings\my name 4-extracted it there 5-downloaded this http://rapid___share.com/files/119404917/WS.mini.Skullptura.rar.html (remove the ___ before share) 6-updated my Daemon tools to the lastest version 7-mounted the downloaded new mini-image 8-ran the game from worldshift\bin\worldshift.exe 9-entered the serial from the txt file 10-played the game Hope this helps!
