File is a .uif image. D/L only if your programs can digest this. Alcohol, Imgburn, AVS video programs won't do it. The esoteric MagicISO is the one you'll have to d/l and figure out how to use if you want this torrent.

UIF is a proprietary file format, belonging to MagicISO, that compresses standard disc image files, like ISO. It's not very effective and it's proprietary so it shouldn't be really used for torrent distribution. To extract files from an UIF you could install MagicISO but that's a waste of disk space if you don't intend to use this app in general. The most economical solution is to download a tiny free open-source app called UIF2ISO (google it and hit the first link). This app will extract the image file which you can then mount, or extract files from, using any image file app you already have (like PowerISO or Alcohol or even WinRAR, etc.). Btw, UIF2ISO is just a single install-anywhere exe file (uif2iso.exe, 182 KB) that works in several operating systems including MS Windows (read uif2iso.txt in the uif2iso.zip file you download). I love using it in Vista: once I associate the uif file extension to this exe file, I can double-click any uif file, specify the output file name (no extension) and I get a perfectly standard ISO file (or whatever image file type that was compressed). I then use PowerISO to extract the document files from the ISO.

I have a problem with this torrent. I have downloaded it twice, it's the same each time: the image file says 2.52gb on disk - but when I mount the disk only 630mb or so files show up.. file names from 'a' to 'd'. No files with names after 'D' ?? Others with the same problem? somebody know a solution? thanx.

Solution to my problem: downloaded a trial of 'magic iso maker' and extracted all files via that program.. worked perfect. (I used UIF2ISO earlier (recommended in earlier post), and it gave the problem i described in previous post - my guess is that UIF2ISO only recognized the file as a cd- size, not dvd-size image.. though i'm not sure that is what happened).

Attention: UIF format. You can get a conversion program UIF2ISO here: http://aluigi.**********.org/mytoolz.htm I've recently downloaded the torrents "27 C++ Programming Books" and "130+ Math Learning Books", and they were great but I really wish the uploader, supposing it is the same person, would use a different format. Now instead of whining about it I could upload a torrent with the same files in a different archive (maybe break it into multiple archives too); but frankly I don't think I'll download this to begin with.

can someone please tell me how to open this file? is it corrupt or am i just a noob? it isnt an image file, alcohol wont open it... dont know if anyone else is having difficulty.. please post here
