His career began in the late 1960s with the band The Stooges who put out two influential albums that were not great sellers. The band eventually broke up, and Pop went solo. His albums include Fun House, Raw Power, Sister Midnight and Avenue B. Pop has influenced countless rock, pop, heavy metal and garage bands, and his work was collected in last year's album, A Million in Prizes: The Iggy Pop Anthology. This interview originally aired on Jul. 14, 2006. The Stooges Recorded Live on March 16, 2007, Produced by KEXP Language Advisory: This unedited concert recording contains language that is not suitable for all audiences. Set List "Trollin'" "ATM" "My Idea of Fun" "She Took My Money" KEXP, Emerging fro m the psychedelic movement of the late '60s, animalistic garage-rock band The Stooges reflected the grime and grit of the underground. Led by the infamous Iggy Pop, whose peanut-butter- and blood-smeared naked chest became the stuff of rock legend, The Stooges featured a primitive rhythm section that reduced British blues-rock to a raunchy squall. After three blistering albums, the band collapsed under the weight of poor sales. In 2003, Pop surprised fans by organizing a Stooges reunion with former Minutemen bassist Mike Watt standing in for the late Dave Alexander. The band then re-formed with Watt to record The Weirdness, released 2007. </pre>
