This torrent was disappointing. I loved the game on the Xbox 360, and wanted to play it again due to mine breaking. I downloaded the torrent, took roughly 2 days. When finished, extracted with setup.bat, everything went fine. Tried to play, Got the "general protection fault" error message. Did restart, didnt work. Check comments, Went through evey one of them. Installed Physx drivers and it still didnt work. I really would like some help, Im not new at this stuff. I do have knowledge in pirating. Is there some way to fix this? I really want to play it. :(

After some google searching and help from other posters on this torrent, I installed the PhysX Drivers. My C++ distro is up to date (2008 i think). hey men.... i'v been all afternoon waiting for the extracting completend.... everything runs well... but wen i went to ply.... the sound was all wrong. there is no voices, no explosions sound, no wepons sound, no dino sound.... i listen the music, and sometimes some fire sounds (but doesn't correspond to any wepon in the area) i just play until the helicopter apears... could it be some instal error? or it's from my sound card? i dont belive that it is from the game. if anyone could help me, i apreciate! @Cybrnook2002: excellent advice about the AGIEA drivers. Worked perfectly. For anyone who is confused as to how to add the China blocks to PeerGuardian2, here it is: Download the file gizmolio (the uploader) gave us the link to. Unrar it to someplace like "My Documents". Run PG2, click List Manager, click Add. Then direct it to the P2P file that you saved in "My Documents" or wherever you put it. It's as easy as that. For anyone wondering if they can run this game with an nVidia 5000 series video card, I have to say no way! I'm having serious lag on low settings with a Core2Duo E6600, 2 GB RAM, and a 7300 GS which is overclocked. Looks like I'm going to spend some of that tax rebate on at least an 8600 GT to play this game properly. Thanks for the upload, giz.

Game works after following included instructions. Unfortunately game crashes to the desktop after the third check point. (Right after you escape the space ship) I thought it was the crack but i downloaded three of them and had the same problem. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

@ pick739: I've gotten to checkpoint 7 or 8 without any crashes, but I'm not going to play any more until my new video card arrives. The lag is too much for me. All I can suggest is updating your graphics drivers, Direct X, and anything else you can think of. It seems like I'm the only one seeding. I'll try to keep it up 'till a few more people pitch in (come on people!).

Guys i am out of ship and no crashes for now. Game is forceing u to play at min. resolution 1024x768 no 800x600 so it ****s imo. 800x600 is handy sometimes. On my rig: amd x2 3800+ 2gb 800mhz dual gf 8500gt runs on med details ~20 fps on low more than 40 so is playable.

I was also surprised that there was no 800x600 res. In a couple days my 8600 GTS will arrive and hopefully that will do the trick. It's a nice game, and I like the simple controls.

I've been seeding at 110 kB/s for 2 days, and I've seen dozens of people finish and then shut down. We are supposed to be a community, people. You all complain about no seeders, but then most of you don't seed at all. Even if you seed at a low rate, it helps everyone else out. @martin1841: I'll let you know how it runs on the 8600 GTS when I get it, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Well after 3 days of letting it sit there download for eternity, it died at 87%. Free Download Manager, the piece of junk, restarted it at 0 percent for some unknown reason. I give up on this. I'll try it in a few weeks when it isn't packed with ridiculous leeches.

Can anyone help there is absolutely no sound when my game comes up. At first I was having the CRC errors that jono0120 seems to be having so i redownloaded the game and extracted it with 7zip. No errors or anything but whenever I start the game all sound on my computer stops including ingame sound. I was running Itunes before I began the game and all the sound stopped. I went back to the desktop with the game still running and Itunes said the song was still playing yet no sound. As soon as I exited the game the audio continued as normal. What the hell is this and can anyone help?

I corrected the error "General protection fault" by installing the latest PhysX driver: PhysX_8.06.12_SystemSoftware.exe from Nvidia web page. I´ve heard from other comments that the driver setup suddently crashes, so I put a shortcut on my desktop adding "/quiet" at the end, inside the properties dialog window. The problem comes up after I escape the ship, at the beginning of the game, exactly when I turn around and face the jungle. The game shows me a window error (0xc000001d) and exit. If anyone knows how to fix this, please write a comment. Thanks

Ok guys, everytime I extract O keep getting random CRC errors with either "soun_ambiance.zip" or "sound_data.zip" I ignored it the first time and there was no soudn in the game just music and like one line. I dont understand this. I have over 38 gig free.

i was having that file not found problem, but i re-downloaded it installed all the updates required, (physiz and c++) then i shut down my computer and restarted, ran setup.bat and it worked perfect, so, MUST have the required components before running setup, i believe thats where people were having problems, trying to install the updates after running setup.bat, great game Giz, hard game but still fun

Oh, for you people that want to know how to disable UAC (User Account Control), click on the "start" button, then in the search box, type "run" and click enter, or click it on the top left corner. When the run box opens, type in msconfig and press enter. When the new window pops up, click on the "tools" tab and scroll down until you see "disable UAC", will be right above "enable UAC". Click it once and click "launch", a DOS window will open, and once it says "succesfully completed" or something like that, you can close that windown, then click ok on the msconfig window. You will need to restart for it to take affect. You will prolly get a pop up warning once you restart it saying it's not safe, but don't worry, just install Turok, and then to re-enable your UAC, do everything, but click and launch "enable UAC" this time..

hi, i was just wondering how this works. i extracted my files but where do i click to start the game? i extracted "orininal.exe" but when i use that it gives me an error. also i use the "turokgame" in the ereg folder i think it is, i could be wrong (im typing this on a different computer), but it just gives me an error with the options: cancel try again continue. can anyone tell me what i need to do? thanks

This works fantastically, but this game is pretty difficult, so if you're playing this for just the story and some fun, instead of challenge, I suggest you use at least God mode by doing this: After installing this, go to your Turok folder, and in there go to Engine, and select a file called 'BaseInput.ini', and open that with notepad, and there should be a line like this: [Engine.Console] MaxScrollbackSize=1024 HistoryBot=-1 And now you have to add a line after that so that it becomes this: [Engine.Console] MaxScrollbackSize=1024 HistoryBot=-1 ConsoleKey=end Now when in-game, pressing END will show up the console, and there you can type these cheats: 'god' = God Mode (invinsible) 'allweapons' = All Weapons (obviously) 'allammo' = Max Ammo for all your weapons And thanks for Skullptura for another quality torrent.

darkjester *165 after you have extracy with 7zip look inside the 5 gig folder you will see a icon that says set up batch doubel click and it will tell you it is going to rebuild the game be pationt as it can take awhile depends on your rig pc then after its done what it has to do it will install direct x then it will make a desktop item for you to play its that simpel but i would advice you start fresh make a new folder and extract it to that location then you will be ready to go recap 1 make new folder on desk top 2 extract inside the folder 3 open 5 gig folder wich as you can see is called turok 4 run setup bat by clicking on it then leave it alone 5 play from desktop it will make a item there for you after it install direct x hope this helps

@martin1841 : Got my 8600GTS today. What an improvement! High settings with anti-aliasing X16 running 60 FPS in quiet parts, about 50-55 FPS during action. The lowest it dipped down to was 42 FPS during some intense action. Great card for the *****. My Rig: Core2Duo E6600 @2.6 GHz 2 Gigs 800 MHz DDR2 PNY nVidia 8600 GTS (not overclocked, yet) This is a great game and the graphics are awesome. Thanks again Gizmolio.

If u turn on anti-aliasing X16 fps's drops down a lot. Maybe u mistake anti-aliasing with anistropic. anistropic x16 not anti-aliasing X16. Geforce 8600gts is mainstream card for 8 series so imo anti-aliasing X16 its to powerful for this card. R u sure its anti-aliasing X16? ps anyway 8600gts its much better card than my 8500gt.

Anybody can HELP ME. I extract the game and run SETUP.BAT, and installed the game. So, I execute delete_game_from_registry and copy the crack from the folder ORIGINAL.EXE to the folder "binarie". When I click in the "turok.exe" show a message "INSERT THE TUROK CD/DVD ORIGINAL". What I Wrong? Have I emule with daemon or magiciso any file??? I get a General Protection Fault error when trying to launch the game. I tried moving the folder to my Program Files path and it didn't fixed the problem. I also tried using the 7Zip program to extract the main archive but it still doesn't fix the problem.

yes, the batch file converts other files within the same folder (it's skullptura's unique way of compressing the hell out of data). if you begin the installation and something goes wrong you have to start all over from scratch. this is why you shouldn't delete the original rar. it's also a nice little way of seeing which of you are seeding and which are not, those who come and post something like "please upload the setup.bat file!!1" obviously deleted the original rar and are now completely ****ed. ---- @208 the installation of the AGEIA PhysX Drivers should fix the general protection fault error as it fixed mine.

I installed the AGEIA PhysX Drivers before and after, it doesn't fix the problem. I also have Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 installed, still doesn't fix the problem. There's no doubt that this is working for others, but for me there's no reasons to support this release, I'd rather go and buy a brand new copy, because downloading other 12+GB releases will take me a week or more at 30KB/s. If anyone comes up with a nice fix, I'll be glad to try it, but so far no go.

@210 I think it's not an appropriate way to judge others who is seeding or not. My upload/download ratio for this game is over 2. I got three PCs to install this game and re-extract files takes time. great work skullptura, as always. thank you. game installed without problems, plays well...only one issue i'm having. the part where you are escorting cowboy, where the two helicopters come in the area where the three turrent guns are...i can't leave the level !!! killed everything...followed cowboy to the far left corner where the objective arrow leads, but it doesn't fade to next chapter. anyone else having this problem?

@gizmolio I have an Intel C2D E8400 @ 3.8Ghz, I don't think that's old. I still have the files from your release on my HDD, but right now I'm getting another release. Meanwhile (because all other releases are huge arse 12GB ones) I'm still trying to make yours work. I'm constantly re-installing .NET and C++ and PhysX drivers and so on, I even intalled XP SP3... still no go.

@gizmolio Ok, I just tried another release, but I get the same error, so it's not related to your compression method or anything like that, indeed. Now there has to be a big problem somewhere but I just can't figure out what it is. I just tried the Bender Mini Image from GCW, along with the original .EXE after the game installation, but I still get the same error. So it's probably not related to a "bad crack" or anything like that. I still kept the .EXE from your release, and I also got the one from Vitality, plus the Mini Image as I mentioned. Nothing works so far. I have the latest DX9 version installed, C++ 2005, .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0/3.5 and the PhysX drivers. I also tried without .NET, still no go. There has to be something wrong... but what could it be. Good thing I didn't go out and buy it huh? That was my first idea, but now it if doesn't work with the official/original .EXE and an Image that is a copy of the protection on the real DVD then what could make it work?

I do not have any ATi drivers or anything about them installed. My graphics card is an ASUS EN8800GTS 640MB. I have tried WHQL drivers and Beta drivers (both from the ForceWare and Quadro series) but to no avail. As for my Sound Card, it's a Soundblaster X-Fi XTremeMusic, and the audio drivers are the official Creative drivers for that specific model and for Windows XP 32-Bit, and they are the latest ones, I also tried to re-install them, but it doesn't help anything. By the way gizmolio I thank you for taking of your time to post here and trying to help me, it is very appreciated.

Also, each time I try and I get the error there is a Dump file that is sent on my C:\ drive/path. The file is named TurokGame, and under the name is written "VisualStudio.dmp.9.0" and has a size of 47KB. Sometimes the size changes a little up to around 50KB. Ok I just tried without Creative stuff, completely uninstalled the sound drivers, and I went into Safe Mode and used Driver Cleaner to remove any Creative traces. Then I went back in Normal Mode and tried to start Turok withou any sounds (the card was physically removed from the motherboard) but I still get the error. Then I tried with the Integrated Sound but I still get the error.

@Molokk - try this http://www.mininova.org/tor/1368283 then install other things as usual -net framework(i have two v1.1 sp1 and v2.0) -ageia drivers -directX -vc++ redist( i have 2005) and nv drivers 169.21, it works for me @lakoza - its great card with lots of ram u will have superb performance in every game(of course every game exept crysis but crysis its a diffrent story). Almost every pc hardware is made in china or taiwan and xbox 360 and ps3. So dont worry. There is such thing as "quality control" it fails sometimes but in the other hand what not fails? Nothing.

@martin1841 I won't go as far as completely re-installing Windows just for this game. But the rest of the suggestions were done already. I did all that and more, except of course reformatting. I don't have much time for that, nor actual will to do it. I'll leave the game files installed, I'll keep both releases I have in a back-up drive... just in case one day I get a new computer and perhaps with the new hardware I'll finally be able to play the darn thing. But for now I'll just forget about it and go play something else. I won't loose my sanity over a game that's for sure.

I'm having some trouble getting this game to work. I've checked all over the internet, but I can't seem to find any adequate answers. Here's the problem. The installation went fine, the unpacking etc. went fine. When I start the game, I get that general protection fault error. I will post it if needed. Now, I know other people had that error. I installed the C++ thing first (I'm pretty sure the installation went fine). I downloaded the Ageia PhysX thing (found a link, despite the ageia website being down), got version 7.11.13, and tried to install it. It said it wasn't a valid Win3d app. I looked this up, too. The advice I found was to run it with a /quiet thing. I have absolutely no idea how to do that. If anybody has any advice, at all, on any part of this, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.

@Hidraulicar will run but your cpu is single core so framerate could be poor. Your cpu just limiting your graph. card, is bottleneck.

hey i just extracted turok.......and turned off UAC and ran setup.bat....but once the setup finished i ran the shortcut on the desktop and it gave me a script erorr.... this is the second time this has happened with a skullptura game....i dont know what i did wrong....please gizmo guide me through this.......

Anyone have a working link to the ageia physx drivers? http://www.ageia.com/drivers/drivers.html isn't working for me. if your having trouble with this as i was, first download the latest physx drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/object/ageia_8.04.25_whql.html make sure to save it direct to your hard drive (c: or what ever your h.d letter is) then click Start-programmes-accessories then right click on the command prompt and run as administrator when the box appears type cd\ c: (again whatever your hard drive letter is e.g d: e: etc) at the c: prompt type.. c:/PhysX_8.04.25_SystemSoftware.exe /quiet then hit enter wait for a couple of seconds then close the window now when you click the desktop icon it should start the game instead of the access violation i kept getting hope this helps

There is nothing wrong with this download... It's just the game... Better wait for a patch or else, try to play, but believe me... It's gonna break your nerves... If you die in the game don't quickload... Restart the game and then choose continue...

finally works, also faced problem'general protection fault'. -->install c++ & latest physix driver. -->extract with latest winrar. -->run setup.bat(make sure u have 19gb free space, this is very very important part)otherwise there will be a message in cmd showing CRC FAILED in some part of extraction & u will face problem. 15-20 fps on my sys. p4 2.66Ghz, 1Gb DDR1,ATI X1600 PRO 256 AGP. so anyone know how to set 800*600 resolution for better fps or i have to wait till system upgrade?

when i'am about to mount over a gun, it shows 'General Protection Fault'. @xlucidx Yeah, I´ve the same problem: the game crashes when I get out of the ship. I've found a possible explaination in other forum: maybe it's a low processor or a bad video card. But the true is that I've all the recommended minimum hardware settings, and it still doesn't work. I hope they find a fix, meanwhile I'll keep trying.

i download the game, and when its running in the desktop the Kaspersky warning me a KeyLogger from Turok. I dont know whats up. If the game send u an error when u execute u must install AGEIA PhysiX or Nvidia Physix. Sorry for my bad english.
