Director Xavier Dolan, a Canadian of French descent, has shot a great autobiographical film "I Killed My Mother" (J'ai tué ma mère) showing the dramatic story of the collision of two very disparate personalities, which - according to the will of fate – should be destined for each other mother and son. Hubert is a talented artist. His mother annoying him in everything: tasteless clothes, the way of life, the inability to speak. And his mother, Chantal doesn’t find the strength in herself and can’t understand the problems of youth. She was not ready to recognize an independent adult son, let him out of her excessive care. Friends, first sexual experience, loneliness, searching of a young men for his place in life - everything remains hidden from his mother. The mother is manipulating the consciousness of her child, using guilt. Son, a novice gay, tries - against all odds, to move closer to his mother: his warm memories of happy childhood, which is at least something, so you want to repeat! But more efforts are being made, the bigger gap appears between them... The film "I Killed My Mother" - the "owner" of three awards at the Cannes festival in 2009, together with the main prize of "Fortnight of directors." The picture won the Grand Prix at the Third International Film Festival "Tomorrow".
