Star Trek Remastered - 1x07 - What Are Little Girls Made Of? [DVD-Rip] PROD.# 010 Upload number 9/29 I'm uploading all 29 episodes from Season One IN PRODUCTION ORDER. Star Trek TOS episodes weren't necessarily broadcast in production order, so I've kept the broadcast number also in the torrent name for easy identification. Most episode guides (including the official guide at startrek.com) are using the broadcast order. Prod.# 001 - "The Cage" - was not released yet. It is going to be released as part of the Season Three box. Therefore, my upload numbers don't correspond with the production numbers! How come nobody's talking about how CRAPPY this file is? It plays at like 10 Frames per second! All the other remastered DVD rips are nice....but this episode plays really badly! It should be uploaded again....download only if you want a choppy piece of crap.

Thanks for this, but the video playback is stuttery. You seemed to be using a different process for encoding (not the usual AutoMKV). Also, in the previous episode (Balance of Terror), the audio is slightly off. You can notice it in places.

DWi, the encodes aren't mine, so I can't comment on it. Besides, no one complained so far, and considering there are dozens or maybe hundreds of people downloading my DVD rips, it may very well be some problem with your computer. So far, I've heard only positive comments on the quality of these rips. In any case, I'll play those two episodes again to see if I'm experiencing the same problems! Best regards, Soundtrekker

Well, a lot of people didn't complain about that previous episode that didn't play at all until I mentioned it. The sync one is very subtle, but the video stutter is quite evident (unless it's my system or WMP6.4). Comparing the video stats, What Little Girls are Made Of has a "Video Sample Size = 16 bit", whereas previous episodes were 12 bit. Perhaps this is the cause. Playing it back using VirtualDubMod shows the same stutter.

More regarding "Balance of Terror". Check it out from 46:00. Kirk's dialogue seems very slightly off. The Romulan captain's seems better. It could be a (re)mastering issue, so disregard it for the Xvid file.

Checked out "Balance of Terror" on my standalone DVD Player (Mediatek 1389 chipset), and it stutters, also.

Okay, DWi, after checking the episodes I have to confess you're quite right! I do experience exactly the same glitches you mentioned! Well, apparently, we'll have to live with it, as those rips seem to be the only ones available so far. The encoder didn't care (or hadn't the time) for a more even quality for those rips - different sizes, different video and audio stats, and so on. But they are better than nothing - at least for the time being! I'll go on to upload the remaining rips from season one - if any more glitches do surface, you know the reason!
