It?s got the subtitles where you need them?but the film is not subtitled in entirety. It doesn?t flip back and forth btwn black and white every 10 min or read pre-release blah blah blah along the bottom of the screen?at all or have that uncompleted sections where the music isn?t entered and you hear wind and every background noise there is w/the minutes being counted in yellow at the bottom or have blanks &/or drawn in sections where battle sequences or sets aren?t finished being built (I?d add in the or none of shaky cams bits and what-nots, but it is a TV show that I?m talking praising *g*). It?s none of these varieties of things that bring down a pre-release. Do you remember the blockbuster pre-releasing (as a DVD?only thru them) the first 3 episodes of season 1, (evil bastards *g-wink.*) They did It months before the show came out to tempt peoples appetites for the new series?these are the same quality, I actually checked blockbuster do see if they were doing it again, but nothing?So let?s hope that Gerbil_Reaper keeps coming thru for us! VOLUME ISSUEES?**Okay first, I?m describing in detail NOT because I think you?re an idiot or anything or the sort, but because I know it?s often hard to say/explain ?this is what you?re looking for and where it is, when we all have different computers and speak different languages?(not to mention I use non comp-tech words like ?trumpet-y.?) So, I apologize in advance if I offend anyone with my advice, I know the majority know computers in general better (probably even mine) better than I do. I?m just trying to help and share some things I learned through trial and error with this. So, please don?t take out the clubs and lit torches and verbally beat the shit out of me for this. NONE of it is meant in a mean of patronizing way, and If I?ve posted in the wrong section, I?m sorry for that too, I?ve deliberately never posted because it seems to get sooo nasty sooo quick, and that was something I had, still have NO desire to get into**? If you?re having problems with sound my guess would be one of two things: you need a codec that you don?t have or more likely (as this uses the ?classic media player and we all have good codec coverage) the ?classic media player? sometimes puts itself on mute *shrug*. It?s not something you can un-mute w/the un-mute shortcut button on your physical computer panel (hope that made sense. However look at the player?s volume, if the trumpet-y thing that normally represents volume (not the section that shows how high the volume is, but the trumpet-y thing. If it has a red circle, like a ?no-smoking sign,? around it, the player is on mute. Click the trumpet-y thing/volume button, the red-circle disappears and you have volume, most of the time. If it was muted by ?media classic, but you?ve now fixed that now and are still getting no volume?now is the time to try using the short cut controls on your actual computer. Sometimes once it mutes the player, it sets your computer all the way down to the lowest volume level, so use your volume up button to get it as high as it can go, or are comfortable with, (my shortcut computer controls are located just above the bottom btwn 2 speakers and are where the on the bottom portion of btwn where the seam is when I close my laptop. It?s got the mute, volume up/down, play/pause REW/FFWD, stop.) It?s just one of the oddities of classic. Sometimes you have to close down the player. NOT the computer, just the media player. Then try again-? none of that works, occasionally opening another video/music/whatever first (even if it?s in the newer media) but that you know has working sound, then close it (unless you happened to have something in classic media) and then open ?The Tudors?. The very first suggesting should work, that?s what worked for me and actually I just used It as a fix it measure, I tried the file and skipped through it, to make sure everything worked and the quality of it. Then when I opened it a few days later it did the no volume thing. (I?ll post a few more examples at the bottom of ?THE PLAYER? bit about ?classic media oddities). THE PLAYER--for some reason on the old school 'classic media player' vs. the newest 'media player' (don't know why?but REALLY REALLY couldn't care less)--to simply watch a show?it?s the same. It has all the same basics stuff?goes to complete full screen, the norm buttons-pause, REW, FFWD, zoom, etc. It shows it in the same quality. I compared it to the newer/most common ?media? version had?that I have other stuff on, incl. Season 1 and the quality is the same. The frame (lack of better word) is different and there?s some of what I think of as oddities, but are really just things that have been updated and changed and we?re no longer in the habit of using, me being one of them. I was very much, ?what the fuck? at first. I left tips under audio since that seems to be the biggest complaint, but just some other little things I?ve discovered?If you left click on the mouse (anywhere on the screen), it works as pause and play and to complete full screen, you need to maximize the screen/page AND by left clicking on the screen (like you would to check subtitles or what-not on reg. media) and click on the ?full-screen? word on the list (I thought there was this box on lower left that had 4 arrows pointing outward but it didn?t do anything for me? ?enough for me, I?ve gone on way long enough!

I just recently dl the first season and I am hooked so can't wait for more episodes. If you like this you will surely like the movie the other boleyn girl this movies version is so completely different than the series but very good flick.

Unfortunately, I can only get the first 2 episodes. Showtime won't be releasing any more DVDs for The Tudors until after their scheduled air dates. It will also give them time to correct the slight audio sync issue in the intros for both these episodes. I'll try to get more episodes, but don't hold your breath waiting for them. I will probably only be able to get other Showtime series.

If I download this, will I be able to watch it on my DivX Player, or at least using Windows Media Player on my PC? I have never downloaded anything other than an avi file before... Can someone please help me understand how to use this mkv file once I've got it? I am dying to see this next season! JRM is the king!

As a newbie, I am proud to say I was able to make the mkv file play in Windows Media Player, after downloading the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP). Perfect audio and video quality, after the initial syncing problems during the introduction, as warned by the uploader. If only we could see Episode 3 and beyond, but I guess we'll just have to wait until April... Thank you so much for sharing - I will seed.

This File is REAL. It is NOT a fake. tman77 - you need the mkv codec to play it (mkv is NOT one of the bogus codecs). This file can be played with VideoLAN (VLC Media Player) without any codecs. In fact, VLC can play many different formats without having to install a single codec (vlc has it's own integral decoders) It's free, go google vlc and get it. It's all I use. The ConvertXtoDVD by VSO is the only encoder that I use for making DVD's. It has it's own integral codecs just like VLC and handles mkv's with ease. So, if you go get VLC and ConvertXtoDVD, you should be able to watch and convert almost anything you download, without having to install any codecs whatsoever.
