"Gonzo" - the new documentary film of famous Oscar winner Alex Gibney - an attempt to investigate the circumstances of life and look at it one of the most controversial and important figures in American culture of 60s and 70s, the famous writer, drug addict, a provocateur and popularize of gonzo journalism Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. In "Gonzo" it is described Thompson’s golden age - from 1965 to 1975, with all its major milestones: ambiguous relationship with biker gang "Hell's Angels," an attempt to get to the post of sheriff of Aspen in 1970, the famous history of travel to Las Vegas and the writing of "Fear and Loathing" is probably the main book about the decline of the 60s and hopelessness search for the "American Dream", a scandal involving a presidential campaign of Senator George McGovern in 1972 and many others. To deal with the Thompson myth helps his family and friends, including writer Tom Wolfe and author of famous grotesque illustrations for the works of Thompson, an artist Ralph Steadman. A story of Dr. Thompson, will tell his close friend - Johnny Depp, who played the alter ego of the writer in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Terry Gilliam.
